When the Police Come to Break Up the Party Bangkok Thailand
We were having a birthday party at my friends’ house in Bangkok Thailand and it was about as loud and raucous as I have ever seen Thai people get. The watered down beer was flowing and the karaoke machine was in steady rotation and loud.
Then this guy drove up at 10 pm. The neighbors had complained.
Instead of shutting down the party and telling us all to go inside, we were told to tone it down a bit and be done by midnight. Smiles all around, the police left, and the party continued on. We were done and quiet by 11:30.

Yes, they really seem to be much more friendly and open in SE Asia compared to what I remember from the states. Whenever I notice them and make eye contact, they smile! It is very unexpected for me :)
