In today’s post, we will be taking a look at the logo design rules

Just like every other disciplines, there are also rules in logo design and those rules must be followed to create an effective logo.

Here are the logo design rules:

Sketches or pre-design

This is not really a rule, but it is also very important that’s why I added it to the mix.
Whenever you want to create a logo, it is very essential to do a sketch first so as to help get the general isea and concept of the logo you want to create. Having multiple sketches is always a good idea cos you never know which design and style will work best.
The pre design stage is where you actual do test and trials on the computer using any vector graphics software of your choice. Doing this helps to get a different feel in terms of colors and shape tweaks.

The logo must look good in different sizes

Whenever you are creating a logo, you must make sure the logo looks good and recognizable in different sizes, even in very small sizes. This is because the logo will be displayed or printed on different mediums or surfaces.

The logo must work well in black and white

This is also very important and must be taking into consideration whenever you want to create a logo.
A good and effective logo must be able to work well in various color shades and intensities and still be able to convey the right identity.

The logo must be created as vector graphics

Another very important logo design rule to pay great attention to. Basically, they are two type of graphics, vector graphics and raster graphics.
Vector graphics are based on mathematical calculations of points. Raster graphics on the other hand are based on actual pixels.
Whenever you are creating a logo, you should always create them in a vector based program like adobe illustrator or Corel draw.
The main reason why it is advisable to create logos as vector is to have the freedom to scale infinitely without losing any quality what so ever.
A logo created as raster will start losing quality when scaled to large sizes.

The logo must not rely on trends

Any great and effective logo must never rely on trends…
Creating a logo to rely based on the current trend will automatically make the logo look outdated when that trend phases out. It is very important to create a logo without any trend and keep it as simple and clean as possible.

In order to keep the post short and easily readeable, I will have to end it here and call it part 1…
In the next part, I will continue with the logo design rules.
See you in the next part…

Thanks for taking out time to read this and I hope you liked it.

@therealwolf 's created platform smartsteem scammed my post this morning (mothersday) that was supposed to be for an Abused Childrens Charity. Dude literally stole from abused children that don't have mothers ... on mothersday.
