Drone Flight #2 - Belem Tower In Lisbon - DJI Spark
We had a busy morning that day, we first flew the drone at the Padrão dos Descobrimentos in Belem but then had to hurry to finish our flight at the Belem Tower before 9:30 am. Until then we had permission to fly it there.

In 1513, King João II ordered it built on a small island near the shore, as a defensive bastion. The architecture is considered to be Manueline, which is a Portuguese style of Gothic that incorporates nautical elements and foreign influences (also seen at the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos). There’s both a large terrace and a four-story tower, as well as a small basement which was used as a prison.
The best way to approach the tower is from the Capela de São Jerónimo, a 15th-century hermitage found on top of a hill in Belém. Although you probably won’t be able to get inside the chapel, the path to the Tower of Belém is a straight-shot down a hill lined by mansions, which allows for some great picture opportunities.
Once you’re there, the tower is most stunning when seen from the shore. Grab a seat in the sun on the stairs facing the tower, or at one of the nearby cafés, bask in the glory of the tower’s unforgettable facade, and save your cash for something else.

We were going to say how did you get shots of the Belem without anyone in there exploring, but you got there early in the morning and filmed before the site was opened.
Great shots and we want to get a decent drone, but it costs $$$. We had a small test one costing us $30 and you already know the end of this story. You get what you pay for, did one flight and the battery went bust. Flight time- 7 mins whereas the charge up time is an hour. Not worth getting another one and we learnt our lesson. Also, the footage wasn't great at all.
DJI-Spark being one of the best in the business, we would have to save up for a few months (or years as there's other things to save up for too)/wait for it to become cheaper before we could think of purchasing one. Still dreaming and hoping. :)
