Installing Opensuse Linx on my new computer / Installieren von Opensuse Linux auf meinem neuen Computer

I've been struggling with my new computer for hours, and now the system is running! (openSUSE-Leap-42.3)

Seit Stunden kämpfe ich mit meinem neuen Computer, und nun habe ich das System am laufen! (openSUSE-Leap-42.3)

These Nvidia graphics cards are not supported automatically on Linux and so I had to install the system 2 times to finally get the full resolution. The automatic partitioning I had to completely reject and reconfigure, which was not a problem: The SSD should contain the boot sector, a swap partition and the system files, the 3TB disk only a /home directory.
Now both computers are running and I am now trying to get all the data and settings to the new system. By means of external hard drive with USB3 this should be done in a few hours.
Of course I instantly installed and tested FlightGear, so I could now run 4 instances at the same time and organize my own hot air balloon festival :)

Nö, ist immer noch das selbe: etwas für Bastler und Nerds. Wenn dich Windows schon an den Rand des Wahnsinns gebracht hat, dann macht es Linux auf einer andere Art erst recht. Zwar ist das System sehr stabil , dank Unix, aber trotzdem nur für die die gerne Nächte daran verbringen
kann ich nicht bestätigen - bin ein totaler Depp und bei mir läuft Mint seit Jahren problemfrei out of the box.
Diese Aussage ist ja wohl schon 10 Jahre alt :)
Mit opensuse hast du in 30 Minuten ein System mit allem drum und drann, ohne irgendwas rumzufrickeln. Alles geht out of the box! Nur den Netzwerkstecker sollte man schon einstecken bevor man installiert :) Ich benutze das seit mehr als 10 Jahren und habe nach der Installation mit wenigen Klicks meine alten Emails und Einstellungen von Firefox übernommen, noch ein paar Programme mit yast installiert und fertig. Geht auch als zweites System problemlos neben Windof.

Ich bevorzuge mittlerweile Arch Linux. Ist zwar etwas kompliziert in der Installation, aber man kann ja auch einen der grafischen Installer nehmen, die es mittlerweile gibt. Ich habe mit dem Zen Installer gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Ansonsten findet man im Internet alles gut erklärt, vieles auch auf deutsch.
