Breathtaking panoramic road you never heard about before!
Cycling on the panoramic road over the magnificent Logerska Valley. It's one of the most remote parts of Slovenia and also one of the most beautiful.
Basic information:
- Route length: 35km
- Elevation gain 700m
- Estimated time 3h
It's the upper part of the Savinjska Valley. It takes you about 1,5 hour from Ljubljana the capital of Slovenia to reach the starting point in the city of Solčava.
The road starts very steeply for about 8 kilometers, but you don't feel the climb because you are enjoying the nice views.
On the way, there is a lot of things to see. From caves (Potočka Zijalka) where is a high-elevation archaeological and paleontological site, occupied approximately 35,000 years old.
You also pass a lot of traditional Alpine farms with delicious food and breathtaking views.
Thars also a few dedicated viewpoints with picking tables and chairs where you can stop and enjoy some nice views and have something to eat.
After you fill up with the energy you enjoy a fast descent back down to the entry point of the Logerska Velly.
You can enter the Logerska Valley or carry on back to Solčava (starting point) to finish the circle.
You can also visit the amazing ethnographic museum and enjoy some traditional food in the local restaurants.

What a wonderful experience! I love cycling, but around here it's all done on the beach sand - no hills in Florida! Cyclists love cycling trips in my native Scotland where they can see just such beautiful views!
