Fear=Slavery Trust=Freedom
What is freedom? We often think of this word in terms of law and restrictions or the ability to do as we please. We think whether or not we are free depends on not having restrictions imposed upon us and to some extent, this is true.
But much of the freedom we lack comes from self imposed ideas and beliefs, both individual and collective. We feel we need to present ourselves a certain way in order to be respected. We believe that hard work is what's most deserving of money, which is the fuel of our society. We believe that other humans are out to get us and this limits our possibilities to brutal competition which encourages selfishness.
The number one limit on our freedom is a scarcity mindset.
Even when our freedom is limited by the forceful actions of the powers that be, it is our inability to trust our neighbors which gives these bodies their legitimacy. The more we trust each other, the more power we have. The more we support each other, the more power we have.
I'd love to help loosen the grip that scarcity mindset has on a large portion of humanity. There is no reason that those of us living with modern comforts and a roof over our heads should be scared for the future. We have all the resources we need to recreate our world, without a fight. The only thing that can stop us is fear and the pent up chaos it eventually unleases.
I'd like to start a new conversation about what freedom looks like.

Firstly, I agree with what you've written here.
Secondly, I like how clear and simple you put it - because really, it is - a lot of the time things seem complicated because we make them that way..but I digress...
The same concept was discussed in an article about happiness that I read years ago (unfortunately I can't reference the article, it was so long ago and I can't even remember where or how I came about to reading it)...the article talked about a study that was done to see what made people happy and if there were any links to life circumstances, global demographics etc...the bit I remember specifically was that the comparison of happiness in people living in New York vs the slums of India showed that happiness (like freedom) is all about mindset - people living in New York with access to just about anything they want (serviced apartments, takeaway food, taxis, babysitters, couriers, laundry service - there is always someone else who can do it for you) claim to be less happy, have more worries and higher stress levels than those in the Indian slums where they didn't even have a n actual toile let alone someone to clean it for them.
It's a great topic, I could ramble on for days about it but I'll leave it at that for now :)
Well done.
You are SO RIGHT that the scarcity mindset is rampant & at the heart of most conflict & struggle. Enough now! 😊💚
