Deep shit coming to life! Deep shit coming to Tokyo

Deep shit is the main chat of the Be Awesome discord channel I started over a year ago for like minded steemians to make friends and talk about topics they found meaningful including non secular spirituality, politics , community, and art.

Aside from the encouraging of such topics, there was one more thing we did that made us a bit different from other steemit related discord channels. In an effort to encourage the building of real connections, post promotion was severely discouraged and it was never envisioned that the chat was limited to steem. For that reason, though we are small in numbers, we've stuck together and found a few new members despite a few people leaving Steem or spending more time at whaleshares or other platforms. In fact we are even open to people who primarily use traditional social media.

The founding principle of the Be Awesome chat room is the alignment of personal interests with the interests of humanity so that selfishness and selflessness become a moot point. We don't need to feel guilty for pursuing our self interests, not because it's about survival but because our own empowerment allows us to empower others.

So this week in taking the concept of deep shit to my everyday life in Japan. Weekly meetings for people who are tired of shallow conversations and shallow values, who want to work towards new ways of living and interacting with each other that feel real and fulfilling.
