I Am Home From A Bar That Had Pinball And Arcade Machines: Tilt
Hey everyone, I got back from a barcade in Downtown, Toronto. I only had three drinks, so not tipsy enough to say something stupid. Well I might say something stupid, but that has nothing to do with the booze :p. I went to place called Tilt with two friends. It was pretty awesome. There are a few barcades in Toronto and out of the ones I've been too this is by far the best. There are arcade machine along one wall and pinball machines on the other. In the middle are seats and tables. The place was spacious, which is nice as you don't want to be bumping elbows when you are gaming. And it only cost 5 dollars to enter and all the games were free.
There were about 10 pinball machines including Street Fighter 2 and Pin Bot. I grow up with pinball on the NES so it was cool to play the real version. I will be honest, I do not really fully understand how to do well in Pinball. When you get into gaming you start to understand how games work, like the start-up frames on your moves in a fighting game. But I don't know how to be a pinball wizard. Any experts on here? When the ball is going straight down the middle, or drops down the side, besides tilting the machine, what are you suppose to do?
On the arcade side you had about a dozen machines from Ninja Turtles, to Street fighter 2, to some version of Area 51 and Crystal Castles. My two friends and I all played Turtles at the same time. It was cool to play to it, but it didn't age too well. We kinda lost interest when we got to the sewer. And there was also a Punch-out game. It was one of the only arcade games I played where the console version was better. This was a different game (there were the same boxers though) and your fighter was see-through. Much better getting the Nintendo version.
It was fun. The music was loud and the place was packed with a mix of men and women. And I got to play Crystal Castles, which reminded me of my Atari.

I used to go with my high-school roommate to this "coffeeclub" to smoke weed and play pinball :)
Every few weeks the bartender there would get angry because we would beat all his records and just wipe them :D

it sort of became a tradition after a few months :D I haven't been in the pub for a few years now (moved) but I guess it probably had to close because of the anti-smoking legislation recently introduced to Czech Republic
