So far today I've done 2 good deeds.
So happy Monday to you all. Although Monday mornings are usually the bain of my life, I've been a busy boy already today. Hope none of you are sqeemish or dislike needles cause this is an up close look at my 49th blood donation.
Like clockwork for the last few years (every 16 weeks) I take a trip to the Welsh blood service HQ to donate blood. Notice I use the word "donate" as here in the UK we don't get any money for it. Although we do get a nice cuppa and a chocky biscuit plus the use if the WiFi, to check my steemit account, as a thank you.
Can I just reassure that it is almost painless, the most pain is the pin prick test. The finger prick test checks your levels of iron before you donate, check out my plaster!!
From start to finish it was under 30mins and that included the paper work. My tip is to stay very hydrated as this will ensure you're in and out with very little fuss.
If you are or have ever thought about giving blood, can I just say how rewarding it feels to know that your gift of blood can save up to 8 babies from just 1 donation.
So now I hear you ask what is the second good thing I have done!!??!! Well late last week I passed my 100 steem mark and today I have delegated it all to Stax and @silvergoldbotty so that she can upvote all your lovely #steemsilvergold blogs with far more weight than I ever could.

I had just delegated steem to @silvergoldbotty but that wasn't really worthy enough for a blog so I piggy backed on the giving blood thing. I worked for the blood service for 6yr so I know exactly how desperate they are for donations and how they use it.
Well done mate! Are you going to keep doing it indefinitely or have you set a goal as to how many blood donations. I would do it if I wasn't a smoker my blood will be full of crap, I'm going to quit soon tho! 🚭
It's a regular thing for me fella. I occasionally give platelets but that takes up 2hours and have been struggling for time since 1/2pint was born 2yrs ago. So it's blood for me for a few years till he's in school full time. Smoking isn't a problem, it's smoking anything except normal fags that will stop it. So if you're just a 20 a day man you should be fine.
