The way you dress says a lot about you(Wafrica Guest Post)

Sometimes, the little thing we ignore and the highest things that influence us most. In our society today, you will agree with me that people have adopted different trends of clothing maybe related to their culture or where they come from, their preferences and so forth. Many people have different preferences on how they want to present themselves and their choice of clothing. But one major fact that remains is that the way you dress says a lot about you. Just from your dressing, one can gather a lot of information on you concerning your personality, likes/dislikes, where you come from, culture, social life, status, line of work, religion etc.
If from your dressing, we can gather all these information concerning you then it is but normal to say that, you need to lay emphasis on what you wear.
Dress in the way you will like to be addressed
Many people complain at times that people misjudge them based on their clothing. That is true because we live in a society where people have learned to identify and classify people on their outward looks. Some people will say this is wrong but i always say this, if you are something else inside but present yourself differently in your outward appearance then i can only conclude that either you are trying to deceive yourself of something you are not or trying to deceive all those around you.
Why will you want to portray yourself as something you are not?
What you are in the inside will manifest itself through your outward appearance.
A lady will say most people think i am a whore because of the way i dress but i am not and i try telling them so. So i am forced to ask, instead of telling them why not act as someone who is not a whore starting with dressing like one who is not?
People sometimes have that false impression of you because of the way you've presented yourself.
Why will you dress like a whore if you are not one?
You are offended that people treat you like one, why are you presenting yourself as one?
Just the way you dress commands respect from others.
A brother once shared a testimony of how he was in cab and they were stopped by the police. He did not have his ID with him at that particular moment and while the police checked all others in that cab and were very strict with some young guys that were in jeans and t-shirts, when they got to him, he was sitted in the front sit with his well ironed suit and instead of inspecting him, the police greeted him politely and asked the driver to finish with them quickly and take this gentle man to where he was going. So at that moment it was not anything he did but his appearance commanded the respect for him. I am not saying we should all start wearing suits around but just trying to point out to this fact.
Also, what many people fail to understand too is that your dressing itself influences the kind of people that will be attracted to you. Girls especially complain about the kind of men that are attracted to them. Someone asked me one time why only the unserious play guys flood around her? My answer was take a good look at how you present yourself.
Every animal will run after it's kind for courtship and companionship.
There are times you just have to look within and realize that the kind of attention you are getting is because of the way you've presented yourself. I know this might not be true in all cases since there are always special exceptions but in most cases it is true.
The way we dress or portray ourselves in our outward looks really matter and discloses a lot about you.
So my question is: does your dressing send out the right information about you?
Remember that the way you dress determines how you will be addressed.

Your clothing reflects your personal situation. What people think of what you have on says al lot about them. .. people assume they can tell the type of person you are from clothes. .. That's called stereotyping
thats so true @accra
thats so true @accra
@wafrica I am agree. Dress part is always a way of representing ourselves .
This is very true....
People always fail to understand this but are carried away by recent trends and all that...
good to see you add your words too
oops! I believe my way of dressing reflects the environment in which I grew up but never really who I'm 😉

you are always good to add your words @akomoajong
Dressing says alot about someone!
Mostly your dressing is used in describing you and it's a signature!
So dress well and properly.
people are so much not into considering how they dress..thanks for this
Yes,we should dress the way we want to be addressed,if you dress as a whore you will be addressed as one.We should dress well.Great post.
If i dress the way i want and you treat me like a prostitute your mind is corrupted. There is no reason to disrespect someone over your own assumptions of their life made from seeing only their garments. This is what's wrong with people today they can't express themselves without being shamed by the normalists....
We have to dress the way we want to be addressed and we have the know that we represent Christ thanks @wafrica
If we claim not to be of the world then our way of life, especially our dress code should depict decency instead of the other way round. We are addressed based on our personality. Beautiful post @wafrica
We must dress first according to our age, profession, occupation or occupation and place where we are, we do not use the same clothes in a shopping center as in an educational site.
Do not try to pretend, but unfortunately according to how you dress like that, they treat you.
