Wanderlust: WOW-A DAM ⛺

Wawa Dam also is known as Montalban Dam is a gravity dam constructed over Marikina River in the Municipality of Rodriguez in Rizal Province, Philippines. It was built in 1909 during the American Colonial era to provide water needs in Manila. Today, we travel by foot to experience the beauty of Wawa Dam that we've never seen before. Since it is just near our city we decided to take a look and spend some time with mother nature.

oh, I love the soft gush of water and the fine fresh air.

we travel by foot, about 20 minutes walk, not bad at all.

hoping that this quarrying will take a halt.

as we enter the site, we are surprised by these white rocks structures that looks like was there for decades now.

this was us, enjoying and taking pictures everywhere!

here's the short tunnel or cave-like structure that we walk going through the dam proper.

we reached the top of the trail and we saw the wawa dam waiting for us LOL

we settled and rest for a bit on a small kubo (small straw hut) and we ate our lunch and rest for a bit.

afterward we took a dip into the stream!

we play stone skipping which is fun! we soaked up in the sun for hours and before we know it we are already super brown at the end of the day. wow, we got sunburn LOL but we really had fun.

This dam is a quick catch up with mother nature. A much-needed relaxation in a very busy life!
I hope every day I can do this :D Someday.
