Wild Photos From an Autumn Garden: Snake in the Grass and a Spider in a Morning Glory

in #life6 years ago (edited)

Summer really is gone now.

Gone are the steamy mornings and hot nights, gone is the sound of air-conditioners and their summer clatter.

Soon, the green of summer will fade, and the colors of autumn will paint the world around us.

Already, the autumnal crickets are creaking through the day, and already the loud, lumbering winter flies are frantically flying around the house.

Knowing all of these things, a green grass snake starts looking for warm rocks to lie upon, green grass to hide in, and is now probably thinking about its last meal of the year.

Meanwhile, the camera noticed a few morning glories that were open all day during a rainy spell.

One of those blue morning glories had a little spider living inside of it:

I like spiders and snakes, especially snakes. Hope you like them too!

There you are! Good timing, since I will likely not see steemit again until Monday- and you have a busy weekend too. I like snakes too- to look at anyway, they fascinate me. As for fall arriving- well it showed up here for a few days, then receded again for what I have to say I hope is the last hurrah of summer :)

Have fun! It's warmed back up here too a bit, but there's something about the shadows and the air that whispers something now...

It's still a beautiful time of year. I think I would love it if I didn't know what followed! The snake is a fresh spring color against autumn grasses.

That spider was definitely waiting for a smaller insect to stop by. The snake also was looking for a meal. Everybody hungry today

Time to keep safe in between pheww that snake but awesome shots from there :)

You are so blessed to be around nature and perceptive of its surroundings. Thanks for sharing. @therealpaul.

not bad, not bad at all.
I do rather enjoy shots of flowers with bugs inside them, just in case you coulden't tell
(picture taken from an old post of mine, see here if you're interested. Sorry, I don't like spam comments or begs for views, just thought you might appreciate the post.)

I see! A flower does seem like a great place for a bug to hide, unless there's already a spider in there waiting!
