Obviously not all transformations are fake - like if someone goes from 400lbs to 200lbs you can't really fake that. It's more the kind of stuff where people say "try this fitness program for 4 weeks and look at the difference". Those are the kind of before and after shots that are usually "faked" in the way you described simply because no matter what you do 4 weeks is not going to make a significant visual difference.
I get where you are coming from and mostly agree with you on that but I can make radical visual changes in a few days. Given a month I can make very sustainable differences but it isn't tied to taking a particular supplement or anything like that. I have to spend the majority of the day training, eating right, and resting. I'm going to do more posts on real world advice about fitness.
