Hannah's Story~ Please Read
Hey Y'all. I wanted to take a few minutes and say some things.
So there is a family that needs your help. Let me tell you their story as I understand it. About eight years ago, while living in the Dallas area, this family began to feel a calling to a more simple and natural life. They started learning about growing their own foods, and raising their own animals. They started making changes in the way they ate and had a longing in their hearts for a little piece of land to call their own and pass on to their children. So before long, they sold their house and moved their family into a RV. They continued to live simply and save up and search for this land where they could start their new journey in life. Well, the years passed and babies were born and the family continued to stay focused on their dream. Finally, about six months ago, the opportunity finally presented itself, and the family made the leap of faith to sell their RV and buy this humble little piece of land in east Texas. They are living in one tiny house and also an older house trailer on the property. They got busy right away settling in and growing food. They even got a few animals to start their little homestead off right. In order to have income, they started a "we do it all" type home cleaning business. The family was working hard together towards their dream and enjoying every sweaty dirty minute.

We had the pleasure to meet these neighbors of ours just a few weeks back, totally unexpectedly, as we were both at the same place at the same time. It was really cool how that all happened in a very divinely planned way. We were thrilled to meet this precious family and now call them our neighbors! We(the Moms) chatted on the phone briefly and were looking forward to getting together to hang out and let the children play. Then, a strange thing happened, a couple weeks went by and I didn't hear from them. I knew they were busy with ten children, a homestead, and a new business so I just waited.
Last weekend, we received a distressing phone call from the father of the family. As he spoke with my husband on the phone I could tell the news wasn't good. Then they prayed together and hung up the phone. They had just found out that their little 13 year old daughter, Hannah, has blood cancer. Her technical diagnosis in AML Leukemia. The family is now scrambling to reassemble their life around their daughter and her hospital stay for the next six months. As you and I can't even begin to imagine, the logistics of doing this with a large family and very small children is daunting. Not to mention that the hospital is 2 1/2 hours away from home.
The father is going to try to take care of the children and work and be at the hospital as much as possible to support his wife while Hannah is receiving treatments. They started a gofundme account with a goal to raise $30,000 to help with medical expenses, food and housing for the family for the next six months. They are praying and hoping to find a rental house closer to the hospital so it will be less stress on the younger children.

We are a community of homesteaders and this could happen to any of us at any time. My plea is that we would come together for the sake of this family and this little girl to encourage and support them in any way possible during this time. We will be posting the first of a series of collaboration videos called "Hannah's Favorite Things". Anyone and everyone is welcome to join in this video collaboration to tell Hannah that we are praying for her and supporting her during this time. The video can include you introducing yourself or your family and then showing Hannah some of her favorite things on your homestead. He favorite things on the homestead are
sunflowers...
Melons...
Goats...
If you don't have a homestead, maybe you can just post a little video of you planting some sunflower seeds and word or two of encouragement to Hannah.
Maybe you don't have a youtube channel...use whatever social media you have to get the word out about this family. You could simply attach a picture of sunflowers, melons, or goats with message to Hannah and please don't forget to post their gofundme link :

Thanks so much for reading and PLEASE take a couple minutes this week to pray for Hannah and her family.
Galatians 6:2 King James Version
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Luke 9:11
And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
Beautifully done and resteemed!
BY the way, I forgot to tell you when we were chatting earlier, make sure when you are working on these blogs, to either write them in word then copy here, or do what I do and copy and paste the whole thing into a computer saved document BEFORE posting - I like to do it that way because it saves all the photo urls and such. The reason for this is, I have had two posts so far just disappear, and I am not the only one, after spending a long time working on them. So I try to always copy and paste THEN submit, that way if I lose it, I do not have to completely start over
thank you soooo much for that tip! Saved me hours of lost work.
Always great to hear your voice ,Sister~TexasMom
