I haven't heard any of those "orders" from the city authorities here. I've heard that "mandatory evacuation" means that you should leave, but if you choose to stay, you're on your own. Too many people say they want to stay and refuse to leave until they are in the midst of the raging storm and demand that police come and rescue them. As I understand, and have heard numerous times, "mandatory evacuation" means that you should really, really, really (notice the emphasis?) get out and if you don't you are on your own with no chance of help coming your way.

This would be a very good discussion to have with reasonable people during a time of safety. Always good to hear from you, @onceuponatime. Hope you are doing very well.
