Major inventions of man. Part 2.

in #life6 years ago

I wrote a post about the some of the major inventions of man but I left a lot of them, so here I am with part 2.
You might see part 3 or maybe even more in the coming days depending upon the impact those inventions have had.
As I said in the first part that humans are above all creatures on earth and that really sets us apart.
We have ruled the planet earth after the extinction of mighty dinosaurs.

Below is the list of a few major or greatest inventions which changed or made a huge impact on our lives:

Nail

Nail was invented in 3400 B.C in Ancient Egypt.
It might be the simplest of all the inventions but I think it is the most useful invention of all time.

Paper

Paper was invented in 100 B.C in China.
People started sharing their thoughts and ideas to the world using paper as a medium.
Paper was also used as a means of communication in earlier days.
With the advent of new technologies the use of paper has been restricted somehow, however there is still huge demand for it.

Electricity

I am not really sure whether electricity is an invention or discovery but it has had a huge impact on man's life.
We can't really imagine our lives without electricity, it is used in almost every field.
A lot of brilliant minds have contributed towards the discovery/invention of electricity, however the 18th century American renaissance man Benjamin Franklin is credited for its discovery/invention.

Steam Engine

There were earlier attempts like the Newcomen Engine in 1712 but it was during the period of 1763-1775 that the function steam engine was invented by James Watt.
Steam engine powered trains, factories, ships etc.
There was a sought of revolution in the field of transport with the advent of steam engine.

Vaccination

Perhaps the most important invention in the field of medical sciences, vaccination is responsible for eradicating the deadliest diseases and elongating the life span of human beings.
Edward Jenner developed the first vaccine for smallpox in 1796.

A French biologist and chemist, Louis Pasture in 1885 developed the vaccination for rabies.
His development of rabies vaccination came along with huge controversies but he stood strong and came up the winner.
He also developed the process of pasteurisation for the safety of food.
It is because of him that vaccination has a huge role in today's medical science.

Cars

The invention of cars changed the way of travelling and with its invention there was a development of roads thereby changing the maps of our cities and towns.
A number of people were involved in the invention of car but Karl Benz is mainly credited for the invention of first practical motorcar in 1885.

Airplane

Airplane was invented by Wright Brothers on December 23, 1903.
Although there were a lot of attempts earlier but the Wright brothers were able to make the first plane with attached wings which was heavier than an aircraft.
Planes have played a huge role in bringing the world closer or shrinking it in a sense.

I prefer a good 4-5 minute read posts, not more not less because I find the posts of medium length more interesting.
So it is obvious that I will have to make more posts regarding this topic and looks like I have started to develop some interest on this particular topic.

I would like to thank @swissclive for motivating me write another post on this topic.

If you find this interesting and want more please suggest the inventions which you would like to see in my next post.

Interesting post. I would add clocks. Before the invention of accurate seagoing clocks, navigation by sea was incredibly difficult. Celestial observations could be used (when it wasn't cloudy) to determine latitude, but there was no good way to determine longitude without an accurate source of time. John Harrison invented the first accurate seagoing clock in the 1760s. Now the use of highly accurate atomic clocks enable things like GPS.

I think you mean:
inventions of man but I " left out allot" of them
Dont know if you caught the correction.

Great post, thank you. But what about women's inventions? I wish I could see some of them.

Patricia Bath a howard university graduate created the laserphaco probe in 1986 for catarac surgery.

I will cover more in the coming posts.
I have one Madame curie in my mind.
If you would like to see more, name them.

useful info)
what is the most important for us nowadays, how do you think?

well ,for me, it is internet

All of the ones listed in this part are life changing inventions.

What about men of african desent; Garret A. Morgans invention of the red, yellow, and green traffic light, helped prevent traffic and accidents.

Great post , nice to read.

For me the top 20 HAS to be the toilet paper! How could you imagine a life without it? I think that thing is never going to change, untill we all get those Japanese toilets with cleaning spray nozzle.
And the typing machine made by Guttenberg was massive. Great list btw il make sure to follow you. Cheers!

If chocolate isn't listed among the major inventions then am not taking this list seriously 😂
