Greetings From The Highway! Anyone Who Wants To Change The Burst Tire Of My Car?
Woody Allen said once: "If you wanna make God laugh, tell him about your plans." Well I guess he'd be laughing out loud right now. My today's plans to catch some waves on the 'International Surf Day' have just been canceled by the powers that be (or maybe a sharp stone inappropriately lying on the road). A tire of my car burst while driving towards the beach, so here I am chilling on the highway, leaning against my broken car while waiting for the assistance. Email to myself: "Never drive without a stare tire again, sweetie!" Yip, I didn't have it with me... How smart can one be actually? Girls and cars... that's just a hopeless relationship :-) If anyone wanted to bring me some coffee over, I'd be the most grateful person on earth...! I'm kidding... But after waiting 1.5 hours for the breakdown van, I have a sensation that I might be staying overnight here. Could be an interesting experience! Much love, Marly -

Lol, they also say that everything suppose to happen for a reason. Well I planned a windsurf session today. Unfortunately no wind for me today. Nevertheless, I had a BBQ and a fire instead. Isn't life treat?
Aaaaaw, I'd love to have a BBQ now, too!!! I think I'd deserve it!!! :-D
You're pretty right: everything happens for a reason, and when they don't happen then it's also for a reason... I'm still trying to find out why I wasn't supposed to surf today, but maybe I'll never come to know. Supposedly I would have had an accident in the water, so I should be pleased, open a beer now and celebrate I'm doing good :-)

Just carry a tin of 'Tyre Weld' in the car, it simply fills your tyre with foam and air and allows you to continue on and make a permanent repair later.
Also from a safety point of view, you don't want to get stranded alone somewhere.

That looks great! Yet, in this specific case it wouldn't have helped much: the tire has a cut-out on one side, which means that I passed over something really sharp. No way to fix this, a new one is needed anyways. But thanks for the hint, I hadn't heart about this one so far!
Solid point, even though on my little island it's not really a risk. People rather stopped by in order to ask if they could help me than anything else...:-)
Today I'll be surfing again no matter what! The weekend fun is guaranteed :-)

That's it! I'm actually happy it's been a low priced lesson and nothing else happened to the car or me... I was at 50 mph so that's been a quite tricky situation actually. Luckily a bus station was close when I noticed that I needed to park the car immediately!

I always think that the best thing is what happens! so maybe God in His laughter had a better plan for you this end, I agree with you on the relationship that we girls have with cars, I just hope that the guys who are to the rescue can help these dates of world football (at least at the end of the game) lol

The assistance arrived after 2 hours. At least it was for free since my insurance's gonna pay for it...

Don't worry about the spare tire thing, it's a lesson and its hardly your fault that the tire burst just as when there is not a spare in your ride.
Do stay safe though if it really ends up being an overnight stranding.
It was definitely a lesson. I won't ever drive again without having the spare with me.
Luckily I have a good car insurance, so they sent me a breakdown lorry for free!
Also I'm happy nothing else happened to the car or to me. The tire burst at 50 miles per hour and thank God I was able to react quite fast. First I didn't know what happened to the car, until I smelled the burned tire. It was all a question of seconds. I immediately steered the car towards a bus station that appeared on the right...

Nope, but apparently I passed over something very sharp which left a real cut-out in the tire. Looks impressive! :-)
