Powerful Questions To Ask Yourself On A Regular Basis

in #life9 years ago

One who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; one who does not ask a question remains a fool forever.

– Chinese Proverb

Questions. Where would we be without questions. Every great discovery, invention, idea, relationship, and so on began with a question. Everything that we do practically begins with a question:

“Should I get up now or hit the snooze button?”

“What if I invested my money into real estate instead of mutual funds?”

“If I decide not to go, what will she think of me?”

“Would I have more fun going out tonight or staying in?”

We ask ourselves questions countless times throughout the day. While our answers to these questions play a huge part in the direction our lives travel, the questions we ask ourselves are equally - if not - as important!

By asking ourselves empowering questions on a consistent, daily basis, we can steer our lives towards those goals we have for ourselves. If you are determined to take your life to the next level then it is vital you ask yourself empowering and powerful questions on a daily basis which will take you forward.

The Difference Between Those Who Are Going Somewhere and Those Who Are Not

Do you know someone or have you known someone who has a lot of potential to do a lot with their lives but for some reason they haven’t? I have and it is so frustrating. The reason why they haven’t lived their lives to the fullest potential comes down to two reasons: they are either content with the way their lives are playing out, or they are not asking themselves the right questions.

Instead of asking themselves questions which will motivate them to take the necessary steps to moving forward with their lives, they are asking them dis - empowering questions which will only keep them where they currently are. This is why if you find yourself stuck where you are in a certain area of your life or career, then you need to reassess the questions you are consistently asking yourself.

Examples of Some Powerful Questions To Ask Yourself

Here are some questions I ask myself on a regular basis to help me keep on track towards the goals I have currently have for myself:

What Can I Do Today Which Will Take Me Closer To My Goals?

What Will Accomplishing My Goals Give Me?

What Is The Most Important Thing I Must Do Today?

What can I do for someone I love and care for today?

What is something fun I can do today which will make me happy?

The answers I come up with for these questions don’t need to be extravagant nor do they have to be costly. For example, something fun I could do today could be reading some more of a book I’ve been reading or seeing a movie. Or the most important thing I must do today could be sending an email to someone I admire and would like to begin communicating with.

If you are finding yourself stuck in a rut or at a point in your life or career which needs to change - then I can almost guarantee you are not asking yourself the right questions. To change this, write down some powerful questions you can start asking yourself on a regular basis. The answers to these questions will then help guide you towards the goals and / or changes you are wanting to achieve.

So what are some powerful questions you ask yourself on a regular basis? Let me and everyone else know in the Comments below. Thanks!

Some excellent thoughts here-- really enjoyed reading this!

I have to confess to being a life-long "self-development geek" so reading other people's perspectives interests me. I am always asking questions... but it's very true that the nature of the questions matter-- a LOT. Personally, my life turned for the better as a result of a subtle shift from focusing on "What can go wrong with this?" to "What can go RIGHT with this?" when approaching new ideas or projects.

That's not to say that I have a Pollyanna-ish chronically positive attitude, just that I stopped telling myself that obstacles and disasters were looming around every corner.

Yes, sometimes people seem to get stuck. I know a few with brilliant ideas and great potential... both of them always seem to find it "necessary" to focus their attention on non-essentials that keep them from their goals; although (in THEIR minds) those non-essentials are described as "must do's." Although to me-- as the observer-- their reasoning looks like "I can't start being creative till I have cleaned the house. And mowed the lawn. And taught the grandchildren to ride bikes. And helped my sister learn French."

Wow. Many thanks for such a detailed and interesting comment. I'm very glad that you like my idea)
