Sings Of A Brain In Aneurysm You Must Not Ignore

in #life6 years ago

Most of the disease and conditions related to nervous system and brain are incurable and requires immediate medical attention. That’s why it’s important to never ignore the common symptoms that could be telling about a more severe underlying problem that could be life-threatening. A brain aneurysm can be defined as the swell in the blood vessels of the brain due to high pressure in simple words. Due to pressure build-up and ballooning of the blood vessel, it can rupture and cause a lot of bleeding within the brain. The condition is extremely painful and about 40% ruptures result in unavoidable death.

However, thankfully most of them don’t rupture but causes serious symptoms and health complications. To prevent rupture, it’s essential that the condition is diagnosed before it’s too late.

Here are some of the most common signs of a brain aneurysm that you must not ignore at any cost :

  • Stiffness
Due to the pressure buildup, it can get extremely difficult or painful to move the neck around. The neck stiffness can last for longer than it normally should. This happens due to the pressure the bulging vessels can put on the nerves that are responsible for motility of neck. Neck stiffness can be due to other reasons as well, such as sleeping the wrong way but mostly it is supposed to leave you unless it resulted from a severe accident. So, keep a check on that.
  • Auditory hallucinations
Auditory hallucinations could be a result of a brain aneurysm. Patients often report that they hear weird sounds when there is nothing happening around them. The most common type of sound included a popping noise that can originate within their skulls. It could be due to a rupture and felt as an extremely loud noise.
  • An unbearable headache
There are more than a thousand causes of headaches and most of the times we tend to ignore them by simply popping in a pill or something. However, none of the headaches that are severe deserves to be ignored. Upon the rupture, the blood can spill all over the place within our skull which results in the alteration of pressure suddenly. As a result, severe headaches can occur. A bulging and swelling blood vessel can also put pressure on the nerves which can cause headaches. This is bound to be an emergency situation and you must call medical assistance at once.
  • Involuntary movements and facial paralysis
While these symptoms don’t occur all of a sudden, you can experience milder symptoms such as facial tingling and hanging muscles of the face. Either a side of your face can experience a loss of control and muscle drooping, or you may face involuntary movement of the facial muscles.
  • Seizure
Some people have a chronic problem with seizures and fit due to other medical conditions and usually, they know how to deal with it. However, if it happens all of a sudden you must rush to the hospital in the emergency section. Seizures can occur due to a pressure buildup on the brain within our skull. This could be due to a bulging vessel at the verge of rupturing, or an already ruptured blood vessel which resulted in flooding of the blood. Too much blood can put pressure on the brain from different locations resulting in a seizure.
  • Disturbed vision
The patient can experience disrupted vision and difficulty in seeing things clearly. It can also cause a split vision and the patient may end up seeing multiple copies of the same thing. This occurs due to the bleeding which disturbs the area of the brain associated with the eyes.
  • Vomiting
The key is to see whether this symptom is occurring in combination with other severe symptoms of a brain aneurysm since there can be a million reasons of vomiting. In case of a Brain aneurysm, a patient can feel nauseated or may vomit due to an increased pressure in the brain area that is supposed to control the function of breathing and digestion.

Conclusion
These symptoms may come along with dizziness, lethargy and other symptoms which could result from the primary symptoms of a brain aneurysm. It’s possible to survive a brain aneurysm, however, it highly depends on the level of care and medical assistance that is provided to the patient on urgent basis.
