The Power of Manifestation: Learning to Let Go and Make Room for Success!
In my last post, here, I discussed my ideas about manifestation and how quickly we (the human race) are moving toward a world where instant manifestation of nearly any conceivable thing (manifestation = rearranging existing elements to create a new configuration) will be possible.
In our personal lives, however, manifesting the life we want can often a be a challenge, especially if you’ve never intentionally focused on something like this before. Often, we believe it is a matter of having happy, cheerful thoughts, all of the time. This obviously is not possible, and it’s actually a bit of a misconception.
Whatever your thoughts, energy, time and words focus on the most, you will have more of in your life. It’s as simple as that. It’s not magic, it’s just logic. If you focus on working hard to make money, you’re likely to have more (not a guaranteed amount, but more) if you focus on being a good friend and establishing relationships, they will grow, if you focus on learning something, you will get better at it.
So, what is the function of positive thinking in “manifesting” or building the life you want? Simple, it creates a positive energy field, where you are more open to opportunities and the things that surround you already that can help you reach your destination. Versus negative thoughts, which shut down opportunity and cause us to focus on lack and insufficiency.
It’s not complicated.
Too many people have taught this as a magic formula, name it/claim it, conceive it, believe it, receive it, but there are no guarantees in life. While it is true that the universe is abundant and there is more than enough to go around of everything we need and want, you may find that you need to relocate your person to receive some things that are lacking in your current environment.
Here are some things you cannot do with manifestation: You cannot make someone love you who does not, if you want more love, you’ll need to find it elsewhere. You cannot become physically something you are not, it won’t make you taller, although it might make you thinner, or stronger. Beyond these practical limits, it is possible to alter nearly everything in life, to some extent. You may not get exactly what you “ordered” but you will find things moving in the right direction.
The biggest key that people tend to miss is the ebb and flow of life. While you have to pursue the things you want to manifest, through active thought and actions that line up with your expectations, you must also learn to let go of things that don’t help you to make room in your life for new, better opportunities. For instance, if you hate your job, don’t walk out if you need to eat, but be prepared to let it go.
Here’s an example from scripture: there was a seer, or prophet named Elisha, he had been apprenticed to the great Hebrew prophet, Elijah. A widow came to him and said that her husband had died owing money and the debt collectors wanted to take her two children as servants to pay the debt.
He asked the woman what she had in the way of assets, she answered that she had a small jar of oil. It was nowhere near enough to pay the debt, but Elisha asked her to make room in her life for more to come. He told the woman to collect all of the jars she could find, and pour oil into them until she ran out.
The woman gathered her own jars, then began to borrow jars fromneighbors. She poured the oil and it kept flowing until the very last jar was full, yielding enough to pay the debt and enough left over for her and her children to live on, so that they wouldn’t have to borrow again.
Wait, this was a miracle, what does this have to do with manifestation? Everything. The woman acted and made room and stepped out, believing, focusing on a possible solution and it came. The oil was all she had, had she held onto it in fear, so they could eat one more meal from it, the solution would never have come.
So, as you begin your manifestation journey, what do you need to let go of? How can you make room in your life for more? Here’s an example. Today, I spent money to pay the registration on my domain name, reinstate a marketing program that had lapsed and get my editing software back up and running. I needed that money to pay a bill in a few days, but I felt prompted to make room for success.
Without those things, I can’t take advantage of success when it comes and there is more income coming in. So, I made room for success. How about you?
I learned this lesson well, thanks to Harry Browne's book, How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World. I can't recommend it enough.
As for instantly manifesting what we want in the physical world, I agree that this technology is coming. 3D printers are a crude early step along the path towards the replicators from Star Trek.
Some day, Piper, I don't wonder if we'll realize, we've been the power behind all of our machines to begin with and do it without them.
We imagined them, designed them, and constructed them... so yeah, of course ;)
Yep, that's where we are headed, if we don't destroy each other and have to start over first.
Yeah, I'm pretty much convinced that most people will just climb into The Matrix and we'll become a mostly-sleeping species... Then, the bodies will die off and AI simulations of them will carry on in their places. Because of how much easier it is to build a virtual world than it is to travel to another physical one, I'm guessing that this is the most natural evolutionary path a species can take. I elaborated on this in an earlier article, actually. A fun subject to discuss, for sure.
Good advice! Thanks for sharing! I nominated you for Project Curie :)
Thank you! I appreciate the vote of confidence and I'll take all the help I can get!
