Will we ever find other forms of life?
We have already started the search for other life forms.
At first, we were forced to answer the question, should we look for other life forms, with a possible chance of being at war with unfriendly ones?
Nasa decided the answer was yes. Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 have been launched with a golden record that has content of earth's images, the sound of birds, waves, rain, songs from different time periods and cultures, greetings in 55 languages, and last but not least, message from the president of the United States, James Earl Carter- selected by a committee chaired by American astronomer and Author Carl Sagan.
It also included a map using frequencies with respect to fourteen pulsars.
The content can only be extracted from a smart form of life similar to some our technology.
The map will require more technology to be extracted, including frequency detection and such.
A few years later, renowned Steven Hawking's said that it was a bad idea to give other aliens a road map to our planet.
If the first form of life we find has bad intentions, it could be as bad as the arrival of Christopher Colombus's to the native Americans.
But still, we have reached the point of no return. Voyager 1 and 2 passed beyond the orbit of Pluto.
In 2012, Voyager 1 had entered interstellar space and will reach the nearest stellar space in 40,000 years.
If either of the spacecraft's Voyager 1 and 2 is discovered by extraterrestrial life, and they decide to look in the golden records, then we might be able to achieve interstellar space travel. Or it could be hostile.
If we want to achieve this, it means that we will have to look into a huge abyss.
We will not know about the first form of life we find stages, sentience, character, or their intentions good or bad.
But it is still an even greater risk to not turn our eyes outward, even if we are risking the very way of life looking for other forms of life. Because if we don't, we may not be able to solve some of our greatest mystery's, and such.
With their help, if they do decide to, we may be able to cure some of our greatest viruses, super bugs, and others.
We were also born with all kinds of curiosity, and our pursuing seems like a never ending chase. but we must take a bigger step then we do now.
And if we do, we can pursue our curiosity and finally find out what we really would like to know, and finally get one of our biggest achievement of all.
