Does the light always expose the dark?

in #life8 years ago

What happens in the dark will always be exposed in the light. At times I wonder if this age old saying from the bible still holds true. I've witnessed disheartening things that were committed under the blanket of darkness. Until this day they remain hidden. Everything has a time and a place. I understand that so perhaps I'm a bit hasty.

Besides my personal experiences the world we live in has become a dark one. The light has left this world and we are living under the cloak of darkness. If we are living in the dark, how would the light find its way?

The evils of this world

When did it become a norm for multitudes to die each and every year? When did it become normal for men to kill their women over senseless and petty issues? When did it become acceptable to rob people of their freedom, their money, their identities, their ways of life, their history and heritage, their lives?

When did it become acceptable for old men to sexually exploit young girls in promises of providing a better life for them? When did a female saying no become try harder and take want you want? Why is acceptable to rape children when when they are supposed to be protected and loved?

It sickens me to the core seeing all these evils being committed and nothing being done to stop them. What drains my soul is the fact that I see them happening but there is nothing I can do stop them. This is probably what we all tell ourselves as we turn a blind eye to everything. That is wrong. It takes only one person to make a change and to make a difference. Why can't it be me or you? I have no idea where to start but starting with helping one person is a good start.

@solomonsel - this is an excellent post. Simple- yet complex at the same time. It has great use of imagery and imagination. You had some intriguing questions to answer about light & darkness. Two polar opposites that need each other to exist.

Keep up the great work! Upvoted!

Thank you. I always appreciate a well thought of feedback about my work. I hope to make a difference in someone's life with those questions. The balance of light and darkness has been upset in this century and we must restore order.

Will do. Much appreciated.

To the question in your title, my Magic 8-Ball says:

My sources say no

Lots of darkness in the world. The truth(light) always prevails no matter how ugly it can be.

I truly hope and believe all will be revealed and the world will come to it's senses once more.

Your point of view is amazing ...its just motivate me.this type of post help to get more knowladge in this sector

I hope this post reaches as many people as possible who are like-minded and motivated as you. This message needs to get out there and make a difference in at least one person's life. We would have changed one person's world...

There's just one thing that's certain.. Whether you do good or bad in the dark the outcome/fruit of the seed(good or bad) sown in the dark will come in the open.

May we only sow seeds of light, seeds of prosperity for our fellow man, seeds of kindness and warmth, seeds of togetherness and unity, seeds of equality and equity.

I really like your article. We indeed live in a world full of darkness and bad things happen everyday. We need light and hopefully there're still good souls so bring it to the world. :)

Thank you.I'm happy you've enjoyed reading it. Perhaps you and I are amongst those good souls to carry in the light into this dark abyss.

Your post is calling attention to things many people ignore and do nothing to stop from happening. You are taking action by shining light on these issues.

Thank you but Is there more we can do as people instead of only shinning light on issues?

You can also use your influence as a teacher. In the classroom create a community, were your kids feel safe and comfortable. Kids need to know that there is someone they can truly trust to help them. In the US teachers are mandatory reports of child abuse and neglect. Hopefully, your country has a similar law.

That's actually a good point. Starting with the next generation to rule this world is one of thee ways to combat this issue. Yes we do have similar laws. As teachers we play multiple roles. We are tasked to be social workers and nurses, mothers and fathers, mediators and conflict revolvers, child and family counsellors. The child's good health, safety and security come first.
