Today My 45 Day Winter Break Begins. And Some recent Random China Photos.

Brought to you with 100% @solarguy photos and life stories.

I do have some plans for the holiday. Not getting my full time pay for a month and half is a bit tough since I'm so frivolous with my money but the company does cover most of the rent.

Worry not I have Tons of part time work which actually pays a lot more per hour than my monthly salary. More on what I will do at the end.

The past few days have been brutal cold and icy. Dalian, China doesn't get a lot of snow but being on a peninsula the furthest year round ice free port in China, makes winters quite windy and icy.

The students enjoyed it. Snow is fun, you can throw it, slide on it, and make snowmen to name a few activities. Since it was the last day I just let them watch videos I took off youtube. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to find good ones with Chinese captions. Here they are watching another of their favourites made by 2 goofy guys called "Smosh" maybe you know of them. Funny teenage sense of humor.

American Infants English College
Chinese people will spare no expense if they can afford a better education for their child. To be honest I really doubt it has any connections to America other than the name they chose. They may not even have Americans working there, but then again maybe they do. Please note the Canadian Maple Leaf, best to cover all bases when using the word America. Poor South America and Mexicoa, I know you feeling as a Canadian. lol

Put the words America on any school and it will get students for that alone. If it's a good school they will lots of students. If it's a crappy school they will be shut within a year. I see English schools open and close as the weather changes.

I got a gift on Christmas of some sort of dried Shrimp snack. I'll try eating almost anything here at least once. These weren't so bad. I would eat them again.... if i was hungry.

I often see vehicles with English words written on them. I don't remember seeing this so much in Canada unless it was some sort of advertising. Here however it's usually for aesthetics. This one really caught my attention because it's not something Chinese people would normally do.

911 isn't even a number here. They use 011 and 110 for Fire/Medical and Police.

This holiday I'm hoping to go to Thailand for a couple weeks. I have never been and I'm due a tropical vacation.

And let's finish this post off with a picture of "T.K." my kitten. Last year this time he was living in a cold cage outside beside some rabbits. I literally waited until cover of darkness and went and snatched him up. He has been happy in my home ever since. My other cat wasn't too happy since they are both boys but now they don't have balls. And my home is much cleaner and they play together.

I hope you found this article interesting and unique..

It's snowing in Dalian? Damn, and I thought it was cold here. My five weeks of paid vacation start's two fridays from now. Can't wait, especially since I will be launching a new wechat blog soon. Need to travel and get content for it.

Downtown Changzhou, by the way, has Converse Store with a window display of an american flag made out of chuck taylor sneakers. It's been there since 2014 =D

Hope its a good holiday. We've a little snow here, doesnt last long. But extra chilly recently. Id say come to Dalian but summer is much better.

I thought all universities finished by this week. My friends teaching Uni here finish this week. Sucker!!

Maybe it's a provincial thing. But then again, my uni is a 211 school, and the schedule seems to be different than the other schools in the city.

brew---- talll!!

U will love it here. haha

Hey! My 5.5-days winter break started yesterday at noon (after half-day at work). I'm traveling to Finland for 2,5 days and spending the rest of the vacation in Stockholm. Enjoy your winter break, @solarguy, and thank you for sharing your stories and photos with us!

u r living the dream!!

I hope someone is taking care of kitty when you are in Thailand.

very good point. I do worry. u want the job? Pays room a board. lol

Thanks but no thanks. :-) I don't like long cold weather days. 2 years in Kansas City was enough for me to find out.

👍👍👍

youre awesome. In another life, I could have dedicated my future to solar too. Maybe I still should!

Do you know anything about mining on solar power?

I think based on what I have heard and understand about solar power and mining (crypto i guess u mean) is it is not yet profitable. Buying enough solar panels will cost you at least 6-10+ month of mining before it pays for itself providing you had enough sunny days. Though that depends on how big your mining rig is.

Thanks for the interest. following you. ^^
