Hello my dear friends! Today I want to invite you to travel to interesting places of Transcarpathian Ukraine. This is a nice city of Uzhhorod. Today I will tell you how we coined coins for good luck. This is quite an interesting action.
We walked along the Uzhgorod Castle and saw a guy who minted coins. We came closer and he suggested that we make a coin for ourselves. You could choose any metal and any inscription. My children chose the inscription "For luck".
The guy told us that in ancient times, every coin was handmade. To make a coin, first make a sketch in a three-dimensional model, and then make a blind man from a special resin. When the mold is ready, it is transferred to a special master stamp. In my photo you can see such a master stamp. It's that round barrel that stands on the stump. A sledgehammer stands next to each other.
Billets for coins are cut from sheets of various metals. We chose copper. After that, my children put a round copper blank for the coin in the master stamp, closed and beat with a sledge hammer with all their might. So the children are still small, then the guy helped them.
