Rapid tire wear is due to improperly inflated tires. If the tires are going bald in the middle, the tires is overinflated. If the tires are wearing on both sides of the tire, then the tire is underinflated. Other cause is misalignment. You will usually see the tire worn on one side.
Air conditioning can be a number of things. Chances are that there is not enough Freon in the system. Cars typically have a pressure switch that prevent the system from running if the Freon pressure is too low. Take it to the shop to find if there is enough Freon in the AC system.

Step 1. Check to see if there is enough coolant in the radiator overflow tank. If there is no coolant there, then there is likely a leak.
Step 2. Replace the radiator cap. A worn radiator cap won't hold pressure causing overheating.
Step 3. Check to see if the radiator fan is turning on when the engine gets hot. If it is not turning on, there may be a broken temperature switch that activates the fan or a fuse that is bad.
