Music that I love to listen: the Pearl Jam
In the '90 I was a young girl and here in Italy the young girls was divided in Nirvana's fans and Pearl Jam's fans.
I liked both of them, but I have to admit that I really intrigued by the voice of Eddy Vedder. Listening his deep voice, his "soul" voice is always a pleasure for my ears.
The Pearl Jam music is a mix of rock and grunge and all their songs talk about social issues. In the past they have been accused of the "commercialization" of the grunge music, but, honestly, when I listen music I just have the pleasure of listening good music, after that I don't much care ^_^
So, today I started my day with "I'm still alive", one of their first songs ^_^

Nirvana!!
I can understand, I love especially Come as you are and sometimes I listen it when I work on my paintings ^_^
I was also divided between Nirvana and Pearl Jam. It took me a while till I start listening to Pearl Jam without feeling I was cheating Nirvana (what a silly teenage I was!!). I first crushed on "Black"..then "Better man"...and so on!! Happy Thursday!
I love the songs of Nirvana too, but the voice of Eddie was/is WOW! :D
It's not comparable, but I took a few years to understand it. The best is that I could watch Pearl Jam (only twice, unfortunately), while that didn't happen with Nirvana :( Eddie loves Portugal, whenever he came he goes surfing here :))
Unfortunately I never watched a concert of Pearl Jam or Nirvana :(
Hope you still can watch a Pearl Jam concert again (at least I expect I to do it when they reunite again)

I remember watching Pearl Jam live in a wearhouse concert in Hawaii, when Eddie Vedder climbed on the light scaffold and lept into the crowd. Like the Red Sea, the crowd made a clearing to the floor, as Eddie belly flopped on the cement. Like a CHAMP he quickly jumped up and hopped back to the stage, while singing and not skipping a single beat! Pearl Jam Rocks!

Just to be slightly different, my favourite grunge band was always Soundgarden. But that whole Temple of the Dog thing some members did with some Pearl Jam members was pretty cool.
I remember the Soundgarden, very interesting sounds! I was young, but I love to listen the '90 musics at now ^_^

Ohhh how nice that you share this my friend! I'm a big but big fan of pearl jam! I think Eddie's way of thinking totally identifies me. Nice to find a Jammer here. I hope you have an excellent Thursday!
