Tomorrow, August 21 will be an eclipse of Sun, an event that causes astonishment and curiosity among the spectators.

The nasa will broadcast live from 11AM -4 GMT

What is an eclipse of the Sun?
A solar eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon in which the moon passes in front of the Sun and, therefore, we stop seeing it. The term "total" or "partial" will depend on whether we observe the eclipse within the umbra or the penumbra (the two parts of the moon's shadow). If we observe it inside the umbra, the eclipse will be total. If we do it in the gloom, it will be partial.

Where can we see it?
The most important thing is not to look at the Sun directly without protection, as we can cause serious burns on our retinas. As the ultraviolet light continues to arrive during the partial phase of the eclipse, neither should we see the phenomenon through the clouds nor reflected in the water.

We should not rely on and wear sunglasses, smoked glasses or x-rays. The only 100% safe method is to observe the eclipse indirectly. For example, using a sheet of paper to which a hole is made and placed in front of the Sun. The image of the eclipse is then projected on a second sheet, where we can appreciate it safely

That is why for people who are not in a suitable area where they can see eclipse you can see online at the following link:

If you live in Kentucky and Tennessee you will be the greatest lucky although it is possible to mention that most of the United States will be able to see this eclipse since it will start from Oregon then will move in direction southeast through Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Those who are not fortunate enough to be under the "path of wholeness" may in any way be witnesses to what is known as the "penumbra" or lightest shadow of the moon.

Tens of millions in the US will have the consolation of seeing a partial eclipse or the sun partly covered by the Moon, and the closer to the "path of wholeness" the greater the surface of the covered Sun you will see.

It is estimated that some 12 million people live on the path of the "totality" while another 7 million will mobilize exclusively to live the event from the best possible location.

Experts warn that it will be essential to wear protective eyewear specifically designed to see eclipses and that should be kept on the face during the entire event, even for those outside the path where the total shadow will be seen.

Ultraviolet rays are able to literally burn the eyeballs, with consequent severe risks to vision. Since traditional sunglasses do not protect the eyes from the eclipse, NASA has shared a list of approved manufacturers that meet safety standards.

So there is no excuse for not being able to watch this eclipse on August 21
