A Story Of A Champion @senseicat
A friend of mine has three intelligent and athletic children. By the way, they are also polite to boot. One of the boys is a point guard for the basketball team and he has anxiety due to performance pressures. Despite his talent, he will be quitting the team and walking away from a sport that he and his family has invested in for many years together.
His younger brother on the other hand always has a smile on his face with confidence that seems to overflow. When their team is losing, the coach always calls on him because of his energy and positivity. He always gives 100% regardless of the situation and it is cute because he is very small in stature. I remember the first time I met him and he said proudly how smart he is and trust me, this child would win anyone over with his charisma.
The only difference between these two brothers is the information their mind is producing. One is fearful if he makes a mistake and wonders how others will perceive him. The younger brother jumps right back in when a mistake is made and is confident that something good will happen.
The older one should work on his fear. He is scared of failure. He has to understand that failure isn't the END. It's just the beginning of a brand new future for him.!!
Thank you for that wisdom! I agree that if he begins investing time, energy, money into a new sport, he will get to the same place despite his natural gifts.
