Homemade Toothpaste
Two bad ingredients of normal commercial toothpaste:
Glycerin: Creamy texture, coats the teeth for “ assumed protection”, and stops re-enamalisation (so cavities are unable to self-heal.)
Sodium fluoride: A by-product of manufacturing. Can also be found in rat poison and industrially used pesticides.
Calcium carbonate is also not great
Homemade Toothpaste with Coconut Oil.
It is rather salty to start with as so different to what we have been brought up with however it gets better in time.
Ingredients
6 tbsp coconut oil
6 tbsp baking soda
25 drops essential oil eucalyptus or peppermint
1 tsp or more of stevia
Directions
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
- Whip it really well to give it a light, fluffy and creamy texture.
- Pour into a jar and seal it until ready to use.
This is a picture of what I use. I have also found some commercial toothpaste that is fluoride free however has calcium carbonate.
I'm wondering a bit how brushing teeth with just brush and water compares with brushing them with brush and commercial toothpaste.
I feel that you get a better job done with certain ingredients as it helps the brush glide rather than be so abrasive. I think things like bad breath are worth considering. Gum care also.
excellent post - I opted out of the mainstream toothpaste a few years back.
I'd rather die some other way!

It was a hard transition initially however I prefer a pineal gland that functions to its true capacity. :) I have been cleansing it with distilled structured water and a series of supplements which I will blog soon. Look into K3, colloidal silver and MSM amongst others. Have a great day and Happy New Year!
Pineal gland? - Shouldn't that be calcified out of fuctioning already?
