Let's go on a short trip to Clark Quay today and have our hair cut! 💈

For my global Steemian friends, if you have heard of Clark Quay in Singapore before, you'd most likely be associating it with Night Life and booze. That's absolutely correct! However, today I will be introducing something totally different you can do at Clark Quay!

i only found out about this place 1 to 2 years back while searching for an affordable yet quality hair cut salon. I wouldn't have thought that hidden within Clark Quay, there would be such a gem. Since my first visit to check it out, I have become a loyal customer.

至於全球Steemian朋友來說，如果你之前聽說過新加坡的克拉碼頭Clark Quay，印象當中也應該只是聯繫到酒吧或者是夜生活之類的事。不過，今天我想介紹的是克拉碼頭的另一面!

我在一兩年前在網上搜索的時候，找到這家理髮店。我本身沒想到在克拉碼頭的角落隱藏著那麼優秀的理髮店。久而久之，我也成為了一個忠實的顧客。

This Salon goes by the name of Kojimaya.

It is located quietly above the train station within the mall at the basement level, at a corner. Before my first visit, i honestly never walked here, or even if I did, i didn't take notice of this salon.

The price of a haircut is fixed at SGD$12, and the process of getting a haircut here is simple. You have to prepare an individual $10 and $2 dollar note to insert into the machine at the entrance, and you will receive a paper receipt/ticket with a queue number.

理髮店的名字是 KOJIMAYA，如果直接用日語翻譯來說應該是小島屋。

在這裡想剪個頭髮非常簡單。到來之前準備好一張10元及一張2元鈔票。理髮店前有台收鈔票的機器，收準準12元。吞了鈔票之後，機器便會印出一張收據。記得別弄丟了哦，需要它來排隊！

Of course, go during the off-peak periods (weekdays, after lunch and before dinner timings), otherwise there might be quite a long queue.

當然，請在非繁忙時間（午餐和晚餐之間）來看看，不然恐怕要等很久。

On first glance, the way the shop works mght resemble other express cut shops, but once you're inside it feels different.

I'm personally not sure if the Kojimaya is related to Japan or any Japanese chain outlets. Even after searching about it I could not find any clues. but either way, i have only visited this outlet and won't be switching anytime soon.

There are normally 2 lady stylists and 2 male stylists. You are able to choose who to cut for you. All of them are friendly and nice and their 'uniforms' look really cool and fashionable too. One of the male stylists has seen me many times before and I always wait for him to have my haircut. For $12 i can't find anywhere else in Singapre that gives such decent value for money. There are cheaper options , i believe even $3 i have seen and tried before in the past. but they are normally of a high risk nature. They are either a hit or a miss, so if you are feeling lucky that day maybe you could try the cheaper neighbourhood options 😂

在理髮店裡造型師通常分為兩男兩女。要誰幫你剪頭髮人您選擇。他們都很友善，服務周到，而且他們穿的‘制服’也很酷。對我來說，這12元真的是物超所值。在新加坡應該是找不到其他同樣優秀及廉價的造型師了。更便宜的選擇的確存在，我連3元的剪髮服務也曾嘗試過。但是這個風險很高，如果你通常運氣不好還是別去。否則走出理髮店之後可能面目全非，認不出自己。

After cutting my hair we went about to do a little window shopping in the mall and saw some really interesting sights.

From the back I couldn't really tell what it was. i initally thought it was something under construction for a chinese new year decoration. It actually turned out to be a tent!

I think it's a new style of camping known as Glamping.

There was no one around at that time anyway, so we took the opportunity to get some photos of us being in the tent. In reality, I don't think I would really go Glamping though, doesn't seem like it would be too comfortable, don't you think?

剪完頭髮後，我們在商場隨便逛一逛，看到一些非常有趣的東西。

從後面我真的不看不出它到底是什麼。我起初以為是一個正在建設中的新年裝飾。它竟然是一個帳篷！

我好像在哪裡聽說這是個新式的露營方式，叫做 GLAMPING （豪華優雅帳篷的意思）既然當時沒人在場，我們就隨意的拍了幾張照片。但是在事實上，我本身覺得我應該不會真正去嘗試GLAMPING，它看起來不太舒服，還是不同的酒店比較好。

Thereafter we also wandered around the mall and saw this new shop that sells accessories and cakes. I recall the name was The Cat and the Fiddle. I took a photo with the monkey at the entrance.

我們還在商場內走一走，看到這家銷售配件和蛋糕的新店。我記得名字應該是The Cat and The Fiddle（貓和小提琴）。我也在入口處與猴子照相。

Before leaving we also went to Owndays! It's a Japanese spectacles retailer that has quite inexpensive eyewear, and they are able to make you a pair of spectacles in half an hour. We tried out some glasses, and you can check the dtube video here!!
