Jordan Peterson Is On Young Men's Side - Why He Has Become Jesus To So Many Young Guys.
I suppose many of my friends on Steemit know who JP is, but for those of you who don't, Jordan B Peterson is a Canadian clinical psychologist and professor of psychology at the university of Toronto.
JP released a series of videos on his YouTube channel in 2016 in which he criticized political correctness and the canadian government's Bill C-16 which added gender expression and gender identity. It's basically a bill which protect certain groups from "discrimination".
This is the video that made him popular. Where he tries to argue with reason against SJW's.
I've been so fascinated by JP myself. Who is this guy who seems so genuine and talks to me about me. He's a father figure that most of us never had. Someone who takes our side and defends us intellectually. For me though, a 36 year old father, his knowledge and logic and reason is of course very useful and interesting..but I've all ready wandered through the desert like all young men must. Those that really seem to find sanctuary in his teachings are the younger guys. The 25 year olds.
He stands up unapologetically with a clear mind and a saber sharp mental ability for western values and reason and logic. He is Ayn Rand, Stefan Molyneux and Buddha in one person.
What makes JP so incredibly important as a human being at this time in history is that his way of talking crystal clear makes people just nod their head and think " I actually knew that, deep within" He makes sense. He's rational and logical. And he annoys the crap out of SJW's and the politically correct elite. I would argue he is the most important figure in our time. I would also argue that he is not unapologetic ENOUGH..but you gotta give it to him. What courage it must take to be in the spotlight like that.
What he does to young men is change them. Change them from computer playing, weed smoking nihilist losers with depression and anxiety, perversion, vengeance and no direction and no function - to actually realizing you don't have to live your life like that. To actually find purpose. Start to clean your room. For the demonized white young man..finding someone who takes his side is extremely healthy and important in a society where everyone else seem to hate your guts and blame all the problems in the world on you or your forefathers.
Just watch this video and see how he bursts into tears when talking about young men who approach him after a speech or on the street to tell him how he has changed their life. Amazing. This is a man who truly has empathy with people. What he talks about in the end is how people are afraid to share their life changing experiences. And I have felt that too. I have too gone through anxiety, depression and nihilism. And when you enthusiastically share your progress and your excitement, people often don't respond to it. They don't get encouraged. They rather start trying to beat you down and belittle you. And he reminds us how very important it is to just give people a little bit of confirmation, share their excitement and give them some attention. It takes so little!
With my 4 year old I realize that. Just to get dad's full attention for 30 minutes is the whole world for him. When I'm excited for his experiences and explorations. A small puddle of water on the parking spot is probably not the most exciting thing for me..but just try to imagine how small the world is for children. That puddle of water is like the fifth coolest thing he's ever seen. :)
Fantastic post man. I just played with my 5 year old son longer than usual last night, and I could tell it meant the world to him. The bond was strengthened so much by just that little bit of real attention and quality time.
I’m also a big fan of Peterson in terms of his thinking and empathy. Funny how logic and kindness and honesty have become almost antithetical to “mainstream acceptance” in modern culture.

Strange isn't it? It's something sick going on. I notice it with people close to me as well (not my wife though, but other family and friends) they are so afraid of having "radical" opinions or saying "something wrong" that they censor themselves really hard. I used to be able to have a laugh and joke about almost anything with these people..now they ignore me politely when I'm making a joke. I can see that they get really uncomfortable whenever I joke about politically incorrect things. And if I discuss it seriously, or bring up the topic rather..they attack me personally really fast or they just withdraw from the discussion. You can see how they cringe up..and then they make some kind of argument that they parrot/repeat that they've heard on the mainstream news and they say it in a tone that basically is so belittling and mean that the conversation is basically over - because you just drop your jaw.
And thats how you lose friends and family in the modern western world :) I guess thought crime really is a thing. Thought crime and thought control. Sickening stuff.

Jordan Peterson is a genius. I think he did not want to get involved in politics much, but he was pushed towards it by the leftist madness of recent years. In the same way it says that if the leftists keep pushing, many hidden fascists will come to light, and this for me is evident, it has been evident in recent years, and you just have to see history to realize fascism, which It was ultimately a reaction to socialism.
We saw almost 100 years ago what happened when the socialists began to put pressure on Europe and the fascism was born, Europe was divided into two versions of statism, the same shit but of different dogs.
His 12 rules book is fantastic (so far, on rule 9 right now) and his videos are refreshing. I have a 2 year old son myself so it's very applicable. I've used some of his advice on conditioning my son to sleep in his big boy bed by himself at night, something that had been a struggle previously. I had a great parenting system growing up so a lot of his content is just reinforcing what I already knew.
I have seen how men are less masculine or at least the loudest ones are. I'm blessed that I grew up in a small town in Nebraska where the majority of men are pretty down to earth and have similar values on manhood. I recently was hanging out with friends and one of them has a daughter that was there. She had mentioned some boy she liked that ran an Instagram page and there was no trace of masculinity to be found at least in what he posted. I asked her a simple question. I asked her, "Do you like spiders?" She looked super confused and told me they're gross and she hates them. I casually responded, "if you end up with a guy like that, you'll be the one that has to smash them." Left her speechless, she wasn't sure she could argue against me on that because she recognized it was probably true.
Truthfully, that's the least of the concerns a woman should have with a man that doesn't seem to display any form of masculinity, it was meant to be about as humorous as helpful. There's an important need for the role of a masculine presence in the world just like there is for the feminine presence. People need to take thinkers like JP more seriously when it comes to these things because it's going to have quite an impact if masculinity is significantly reduced in the world.
I like him already too. Young men of these days are so womanly in behavior, if this guy can bring out the manliness in them, that will be nice.

Am from Nigeria and that is the case with young black men too, they behave womanly, which I don't like.
For example you find a lot of black young men who cannot take charge of their homes, they let their wives do it.
Basically they are afraid of their wives and that just gets me angry among other dumb things about them.

Exactly. And whats more important, he tells white young men that is OK to be a white young man. It's not easy to be a young man who's NOT privileged at all, to have to be responsible for everything bad that has happened in history. This man says it like it is - that western culture is a great culture and you should not be afraid to be proud of yourself and your culture.
All other cultures is that. You are probably proud of YOUR culture or background, right? It's only natural. :)
But JP does not only apply to white men. His intellect and reason and logic is of course something any person of any gender or race can benefit from.

am not disagree with the SJW's but its a impossible discussion everyone takes it so personally. back in Norway one friend om my is transsexual and over the years we have had discussion on the subject. a think to fix it we just Ned to listen and make a lot of people on both sides
