We are human beings and we are driven by emotions and feelings more than thoughts and logic, no matter how much we believe that we are run by the later. Therefore, most of our life is dictated by our emotions.

That's why when things are going great, we can't help but feel awesome, ecstatic and as if we are on top of the world. The exact opposite happens when things are not going good. We feel sad, grumpy and in more extreme cases, depressed.

Also, life is dynamic and things can change at the drop of a hat. One day you are standing at the top of the mountain and the next day, you are at the bottom of the ocean. This works with the opposite case as well.

When the going is easy, we do not require much support to go about our life but when we are faced with times of deep sorrow, we usually look for and desperately need some sort of a support structure. That's when we need the loved ones around us the most.

It's All Going To Be Ok

Simple words, yet the power behind them is really huge. Sometimes this one sentence can bring us back from the depths of darkness that we fall into during those harsh times. These words, spoken by a loved one act as a hand that saves you from drowning.

The problem is that we tend to overexaggerate everything, in our minds. When something good happens, we can feel more happy than we need to and when bad happens, we feel a lot worse than we need to. That's because we let our emotions take over. Plain and simple.

Once you enter that emotional roller-coaster, you will be spiralling away until someone from the outside makes you realise what you are doing to yourself and make you snap out of it.

Usually that 'outside force' is one of our loved ones, be it parents, spouse, siblings or friends. Also, the fact that we trust them in our lives makes their words matter even more and we take solace in the fact that there are people who have our backs.
