startup series continued- story of springr
Springr Beginings
After my involvement with waybeo ,the team got started and were doing good (and still there are doing fine), I got a call from few of the innoz founders (the first startup I am associated with). After innoz exist, these folks wanted to do something in Technology and media.They were very passionate about art.They got a warehouse on the banks of Arabian sea in Kochi, southern tip of India!!! named the company Springr Technologies.
Idea
The idea was to create a Technology platform that can be used to help upcoming artist .Interestingly enough , this was something I discussed with few guys in newyork.There was youtube ,but no platform specific to artist. I was not associated day to day but I heard great stories about them , How it brought together the artist and music ,fun and all that.
From a business point of view, the startup tried a web platform to attract talent and the ware-house turned office was used as a place to perform shows. This was a hip place, a cafe, there is art place, you can cook, paint,share home made food from different countries and of-course show case your music and talent !!!
The End
Company had great plans and wanted to expand to other cities, but the business model where it needed to rent or host expensive places means it was difficult to continue in that mode.Sadly they had to shut down the operation and pivot to another product..I am still very much associated with the team and they had couple more pivots before getting to a product with traction.Will narrate that story later..
