Laughter comes in unexpected moments (1min)

in #life6 years ago

In the army, before a task, they used to school us to imagine the worst case scenario. That way, in case of horror, the mind is prepared. The most severe traumas happen then, they told us, when the horror is least expected.

Interestingly enough, the greatest joy and laughter appear then when we least expect it too. Hearing a joke for the second time never has quite the same effect. Kyle Cease, a comedian and motivational speaker once said: "Everything that is funny, is usually spontaneous and unexpected." (forgive me Kyle if I didn't quote you word by word)

How fascinating that the greatest joys and also the greatest hardships hit us when we are least expect them.

It explains why we, on one hand feel the need of control, and on the other hand seek for the rush of spontaneity and adventure.

Do we need both? Or is a life of joy and lightness worth the risk?

I heard that the army has so many hillarious jokes and sometimes when civillians heard that they're just love it. tell me some joke while you're in the army then, I watched some movies like Sniper.. and yeah they made jokes even in a crisis, is it also happened in the real life of the mission @sams-world?
thanks to @honeysim who has featured you again in the pay it forward contest this week.. are you busy?

Its a reflex to handle the things that are terrible. Have to deal with it some how

Yes.. that's how I can laugh out loud while reading some of your post.. armadillo😂

haha you 2!! :D
Well, I never had a very serious situation about life and death in army. Just for training purposes. Yet... for sure the drills somehow forges you closer to the colleagues... As harmless as it sounds but our "enemy" was the drillmaster itself :P

So glad to read from both of you guys! hope you're doing well!

Best wishes to you!

Hey @sams-world...I have featured you in my entry for Week 17 Pay it forward contest hosted by @thedarkhorse.

P.S Thanks for the gentle reminder....the best and worst moments are indeed unplanned. Stay blessed.

Heyy!! :))) Woah, yess I am too! so glad to hear from you. I'm in a place with very limited internet at the moment, so i have to be wise with my data-budged.. :) but all is going well. We found a beautiful house in nature and there's a lot of work in the garden, and around the house (i'm learning a lot about "how to fix things"... :P )
and... i'm fininshing off my first novel. so all is coming together slowly, very exciting times...

How are you doing @tryskele, aww I was so happy to read from you!!!

Glad you found a place. It sounds very nice. I'm doing well. Haven't been able to be on much lately due to having surgery last week. Healing great though, now I just have to work on getting 'back to normal' :)
