Leveraging On Your Mistakes

Sometimes, what wow us in an art piece might just be a mistake that is worked upon by the artist to bring out the excellence in it. Creativity, sometimes, does not negate the fact that errors are bound to happen, but it helps you to know which error is worth keeping and which one is worth working on.

A story was told of a restaurant waitress that was carrying a plate of soup to one of the customers. On getting to the customer's corner, she missed her steps and fell down, the plate of soup flew and splashed on the newly painted white wall... what a mess it was.

Just when the manage of the restaurant was about to shout at the waitress, an artist stood up from his seat and told him "sire, I can fix this". Surprised by this, the manager of the restaurant asked the artist with curiosity "what do you intend to to?"

The artist reached for his bag, got some brushes and a few small containers of liquid colours and turned that mess on the wall into an amazing art piece that wowed everyone. The painting became so popular that people will just walk into the restaurant to eat, not because they are hungry, but because they want to view the painting.

This is what happens when you refuse to let your mistakes define your true worth. In every mistake, there is always something to leverage on to make a spectacle out of it - only if you work on the errors though.

Humans have not achieved immunity to errors yet, this is why they are not immune to making some errors every now and then, but do not allow the mistakes to define who you truly are. Remember this; there is a measure of goodness in every mess and in every mistake. Just try to look way beyond your mistakes into what your creative mind can figure out.

Anytime your mistakes tells you one reason why you can't succeed, remind with 1000 ways how you will turn the same mistake into a spectacle. By doing this, your mistakes will soon get tried of you.
