INTRODUCTION
Every organization consists of three important resources, men, material and money. These are all important for an organization, but human resource occupies a pivotal position because it is through men on the job that the organization is able to utilize other resources, the utilization of other resources is never possible without human resource.
Organizations are the creations of human beings and are made to perform for acquiring the benefits to the community, polity and society. It is the human resource which suits the organization to achieve their laid down goals and objectives in consonance with temporal dimensions and circumstances, could be social, political, economic, cultural and administrative and so on.
In keeping with the complexities, engrossing the organization in the wake of challenges and constraints, it becomes imperative to have the sound, effectiveness and effective management of human resources.
HRM Human resource management has become the dominant approach to people management. Human resource management has absorbed ideas and techniques from a wide range of theories and practical tools. HRM is a synthesis of themes and concepts drawn from along history of work, activities and functions include human resource planning, recruitment, training, compensation packages, morale boosting, discipline, conflict resolution etc.
The central idea or the theme in human resource management is that people are assets and not a burden on economy and society. The old Malthusian theory of population needs revision, in that liberalism in the sense of people centric or human policies is needed to extract maximum potential out of human capital or resource.
In every organization, human resource management is of crucial significance. It is important to stress on the human capital development, plans and strategies through education and training, work force planing, recruitment, career management and development of manpower, training and development, redeployment and reskilling, employees health and safety and stress management revolving around the total quality management approach are stressed.
Human resources is an art, control methods are very important within a business, but without a human resources department it is impossible to maximize the most important asset, the employee.
