Steemy Pizza!

I Am So Excited!

I took my beloved Husband out to dinner tonight! I paid for some pizza with my Steemit rewards I traded for bitcoin. I use several platforms for trading and I can't give advice on which one is the best. I used the Coinbase Shift Debit card because it's very easy to sign up and all I had to use was my SSN and phone number. Word of warning, Coinbase is now sending "certain" accounts data to the IRS for those who live in the United States.

I cannot advise you how to purchase a debit card here in the United States or outside of the United States. I don't want to be responsible for giving anyone the wrong advice.

The reason I am posting this little article is not to brag, well...maybe I am bragging a little bit. I figured out the system all by myself and I am a Grandma! So if I can use cryptocurrency to purchase food, gas, pay for rent or a mortgage, anyone can!

Red Dust Eating Her Steemit Gluten Free Pizza!

Wheat gives me rashes and migraines

How much Bitcoin did I trade for $22.00 worth of pizza? If BTC was at $11,300.00 that would equal, 0.001946 worth of BTC. I heard a story at the beginning of bitcoin birth someone paid 10,000 BTC for 2 pizzas, which today would be worth $100 million. Times have changed a little bit.
Blaze Pizza has the best all you can eat toppings in town. You can customize your pizza including gluten free crust. I love this place when I don't feel like cooking.

I had no problem paying for the pizza, the transaction was instant. I will leave links below explaining how Coinbase and the Shift Debit card pull this little crypto miracle off!

The credit card reader had no problem processing my Shift debit card transaction. A word of warning, you don't need a PIN number for the transaction. I won’t be keeping large amounts of currency on my debit card that can easily be stolen or lost. I will not keep a large amount of coins in my Coinbase BTC wallet, do not keep large amounts of coins on exchanges. Crypto-exchanges can shut down, freeze your wallet, or get hacked!

When you use your Shift debit card to make a purchase, the equivalent value of BTC (based on the current spot price of BTC on Coinbase) will be debited from your Coinbase BTC wallet. For certain transactions, like gas purchases and dinner bills, Shift will debit more than the purchase amount, and will refund you the remainder when the final payment amount is settled.

Yes, coinbase looks like it is going the way of evil. But, it is a known evil.
Hey, they will just report every little thing you do to the Infernal Revue Syndicate and the Toilet Safety Administration.

It was only like 100% guaranteed that it would happen.
But, if you are paying your taxes and have a clean SSN, there should be no real problems.

But, I am glad that you have worked out the methods of exchange.
It is so much easier than finding someone on a street corner who wants to trade for steem. ^_^

@builderofcastles, I am waiting for the day when I don't have to think about fiat currency anymore. Until then I will continue to research a way around the evil banking system.

Good job!

I've also been trying to encourage people to actually use Steem. I've made several direct exchanges - in some cases for fiat, and in some cases I've either bought some things for Steem directly or sold one of my SILVERengines protons in exchange for Steem.

The more we use it, the more useful it becomes.

I hate the "middlemen" in most of these transactions, so I've cut them out completely... We need more middlemen who serve well, offer security, and provide their service for a reasonable fee. But ultimately, the more "direct Steem transactions" we can do, the better off the entire community will be.

😄😇😄

@creatr

I am getting ready to cash out on some of my other cryptocurrencies. I want to buy some silver. But I also want to cash out in fiat currency when my cryptocurrencies are high and buy them back when they are low. I am starting out small and see what happens. I get excited just thinking about when to set the limit to cash out, it's feels like I am at a gambling casino.

I don't want a middle man either, but until then I will deal with the IRS and centralized exchange demons :p

You should try Italian pizza <3

I can't eat wheat or I would. I break out in a rash and get headaches :-(

me too I have invested in school expenses. but we can not ignore the given pensions. Congratulations. on your life. A lifetime of happiness. :)

Steemit would make a nice retirement account. Although I have invested some of my rewards into other currencies. I hope Steemit last a long time! More Pizza!

Yeaaahhhhhh!!! :))))

This is a really great feeling. I had a similarity. But not my wife. Because I'm not married. :) I strolled with my sister for days and had fun. I saw his happiness in her eyes. :)
Nice post .. :)
I do not want you to see it as spam. I just felt the feelings you felt and I know how. I wanted to share if you want to see.

@slayer10, I can tell when you are making a valid comment. I don't mind if your English is a bit broken. I just want some honest engagement after I worked hard on posting my content. Thank you!

If we can share our cryptoexperiences and how they translate off the net into the 3d world, the more people we will convince to start getting involved in alternative currencies that have nothing to do with our corrupt banking systems that funds wars, economic terrorism, and causes poverty around the world.

I agree with what they say. I hope this world will become more beautiful. because he deserves it.

Reward pizza tastes better than debt pizza!
We made pizza here at home tonight but alas no pictures. Steem on!

@blaineb, I don't post many pizza pictures unless they are bought with bitcoin....Steem on!

Reinvest in steem until you build up your account balance and then buy pizza <3

I'll take note of that maam,, thank you 😘😘😊

Brag! :) It's a brag for you and also a brag for Steem! In addition, it is really nice when we make this "real" by enjoying a bit of it.

Does her little happy dance...yipeee, I bought pizza with bitcoin...hahaha ...just wait, my $22.00 pizza will be worth $44.00 next month :-/

Well, you can make a post about the $44.00 dollar pizza you bought last month and re-coup some of your losses. :) Enjoy!

My husband suggested I post our night out to pay for the pizza....you guys would get along, I just wanted to brag...hahaha

Dang, I thought Shift was an entirely different company. So it sounds like it's a little like using your credit card at a gas pump, they hit the card to pre approve enough to fill the tank. In this case they pre approve enough for tip etc.it sounds like. Ok, headed back up to your link for Shift.

They charge a little bit extra and then refund when the BTC goes through. I think it was less than a dollar but when I look at my shift wallet I couldn't see any extra costs.

I deposited my first credit card with the money I bought and went to the movies with my roommates. It's good when you share life.

Yes it is good to share the joy of cryptocurrency with friends and family. My daughter was making fun of my token reward system here on steemit until i bought my computer. Now she only has nice things to say about steemit ;-)
