Why People HATE Selling? (Hint: They're miserable pricks)

in #life8 years ago

What's up gang?

I have this niche site, were I write posts and reviews about certain digital products. I've been writing for about a year now, collectively over 100,000 words.

All the information is free and available to anyone. Yesterday I posted an affiliate link to a product I recommend and ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE!

The Average Guy Is An Entitled Cheap Motherfucker

Immediately some low-life scum wrote in the comments the typical 500 word paragraph explaining to me why I am a sell-out and why he won't be reading my blog any further.

My "entitled millenial" translator helped me understand what he meant.

"I won't be reading your blog anymore, because I don't want you to make some money to pay your website expenses. I want free stuff and the 30+ blog posts aren't enough. I also don't want ANYONE to sell me, unless it's cable, clothes, TV, beer, PC etc and are owned by private companies. That way I feel better for myself for slaving away in a 9-5. Also, I am too insecure to sell myself, so I hate you for that. Oh, I am also a huge pussy"

See, I don't have a problem with people rejecting a sales pitch, because it is just that, a pitch. But to have the nerve and insinuate that you are some sort of a sell-out because you merely recommended a product that you like is proposterous. And I like the fact he feels the need to "inform me" of his departure from my blog, like I give a shit.

I feel sorry for this kind of people. And the worst thing is, they won't go far.

Life IS Sales

What they fail to realize, is their own dissonance. They hate people who sell and selling in general, yet they do it ALL THE TIME in their every day lives.

Going on a date, taking a job interview, wearing your good shirt, posting the most flattering picture, to name a few. You are selling yourself everyday.

The problem is, most people aren't good at it. And also they have no clue when they are sold. Whenever someone is upfront and they out-right say they sell a product, they freak out. But when it is Black Friday, they are glad to buy useless stuff aren't actually interested in, just because they put a "50%" under the original price.

"Hey Redbeardguy, you are just salty because you lost a costumer".

Nah, who cares? He wouldn't buy SHIT. These people are leeches who think the world owes them everything. Even if he didn't leave (which he actually didn't, he just commented again lmao), he would simply keep commenting and shitting on every one of my attempts to sell. So, he would never be a costumer. Worthless lead at best.

P.S- This is what happens when I tell her I fulfilled my yearly quote in one month:

Also this is universally the most effective selling technique, but no one seems to have a problem with it...

The irony is that those guys are the biggest sell-outs :
They deliberately put all of their lives on facebook and such, giving it to a company that will use it to make money and not giving anything back to them.

As you said, life is selling yourself, nothing is really free.
But don't hate them, they just think they're bad at selling themselves, when in fact they just don't know what their value is and how to profit from it.

It's the "Nice Guys" selling technique. They play nice and without ulterior motive in order to get what they want. But they never get, do they?

And I know this, because I used to be like that.
