RayJ Needs a Vacay!
I am having a very difficult time staying focused on my "real" job lately. I had planned a vacation/road trip for March of this year. It didn't happen. I have no room for complaint. I have plenty of paying work at a time when many in my field have been unemployed long enough to lose their savings, house, etc.
In order to quench my thirst for a vacation I occasionally stop my work and run out and grab a photo of something interesting in my yard. The photo above was taken in my front yard Tuesday morning at my "butterfly bush."
I want to take a road trip around Texas and capture photos, maybe interview people, maybe catch a performance and do a review. In the meantime I'll just sneak in a bit of capturing here. The photo below was taken in my front yard yesterday morning when I needed a break.
I had trouble sleeping last night, going through all my projects, "to do" lists, etc. I flipped and flopped around and awakened at 2:30 a.m. I was very much awake. I could see the moonlight very bright through my bedroom window. I decided to get out of bed and set up the camera and tripod to get a photo. I was too lazy to set up the big tripod and bad-ass 650mm lens. I wasn't clear-eyed enough to do precision manual focus. What you see here was taken using my 70-300 mm Tamron Lens with VC mounted on my Canon 6D on a basic Velbon tripod. Not a bad photo.
I usually get a little more creative and artistic on the weekends, and tomorrow is Friday...so I hope to have some interesting posts over the next few days.
Thank you for reading!-RayJ
