Introduction:

Time is the most valuable resource that any human being on this planet has. It is said that time is most valuable than anything else because the time once spent cannot be retrieved back and it cannot be purchased. But it has become so normal for us to waste time that we don't even realize that how much time we waste. Just when we become conscious of time and we try to manage our time we discover that we actually use very less amount of time in a day of 24 hours which is available to each one of us.

Methodology:

Hello steemit. How is everyone doing?

Today I am going to share with you a methodology which my mentor taught me and I am teaching to my students to manage their time effectively.

It is useful for everyone regardless of their profession.

I tell my students to spend some time in planning out the day every morning. Once this investment is done for sure the day will be better than an unplanned day. try it out yourself and coming below the benefits which you observe after following it for one day or two days. I'll be very happy to discover how the mythology helped you.

Note:

The best time to do this planning is before you go to sleep after having finished the previous day's schedule.

Step 1:

Make a to do list of the day. Randomly recall what all things you have to do and note it down. If you miss something and recall it later, enter it into the to do list and give it time later. If it is Urgent, you may adjust things or replace a work which is less important and less urgent. I personally keep a to do list in my mobile and I keep on adding new things and deleting the old things which I have done. But to show you I am reproducing it in a sheet of paper and you can find the image below.

Step 2:

Arrange your To does in the Urgency Quadrant. Have a look at the image below, I have arranged the above to does in the quadrant, it is self explanatory.

Step 3:

Create an approximate time frame, writing when you will do what. Find an example below. Give priority to events in the Urgency quadrant as per Urgency and Importance.

Make Checkboxes against the events you plan throughout the day. Tick them if you actually were able to do them, each event separately. (Note how i fit In "Making a steemit post in the schedule")

Step 4:

At the end of the day, calculate how much time you actually spent doing things you planned. Calculate you efficiency for the day.
I calculate it as:

{(No. of fruitful hours/ No. of planned hours)X 100}%

Efficiency is the number which will help you to estimate your day. After this, Plan your next day. Next day, force yourself to beat the previous day's efficiency.

If you have never tried it, Understand that since we have trained ourselves to waste time and get distracted, we will not be able to do it properly. Our efficiency will be less. But don't lose your heart. Go on doing it daily. You will surely make great use of your time.
Be Conscious, Bring Yourself back if you get carried away.
Somethings will be rigid: which means that you will have to do them in a fixed time and you don't have control over it. But Somethings will be flexible: which means you may shift its timing.
Buffer time: It is a good practice to keep some spare time marked towards the end of the schedule. If you are not able to do something at its planned time, you may do them here.

I will write another post on this scheduling soon, so that you may see how i derive lessons from my planning and update myself.

This is a basic schedule making process. There are complicated methods of time scheduling for complex lives. Will share that someday later. However I find this method OK for myself.
