A friend on facebook said this: "Social media turns out to be a sort of distraction, a temporary break from a taunting reality. One of the side effects is that we get too engrossed in the virtual experiences we enjoy, so much that we are lost in it, and it has become OUR reality."

I think I somewhat agree with him. On social media a lot of people turn out to be who they aren't and they do not always bother about the fakeness because they love the attention, and the wrong signals they send to others who look up to them.
