Wincenty Ferrerius was born in Valencia in 1350. He was a Dominican and preacher. He worked for the church, which at that time was divided by Western schism - one pope was on the throne in Rome and the other in Avignon.

In 1399, he fell ill. sources say that during the illness he had a vision in which St. Dominic and Saint Francis healed him, and ordered to preach God's word throughout the world.

Wincenty worked closely with Pope Bendykt XIII. He told him about his vision and, although it was not easy, he obtained permission from the Pope to go on a journey. To keep Wincenty at home, the pope even offered him the position of a cardinal. However, Vincent decided to devote his further life to proclaiming the word of God while wandering.

He traveled through Spain, Italy, France, then he went to Ireland, Scotland and England. everywhere he taught the faithful and called for repentance. As a preacher, he had great charisma. He spoke in the squares because the churches were too small for people coming to his sermons.
He converted many people and thanks to his prayers several hundred people were healed.

Vincent died on April 5, 1419. He was canonized by Pope Kalikst in 1458.
