we went 2011/2012 in total for six weeks together with our kids, my brother in law lives there with his family. In Auckland. But we rented a car, stayed the first 3 weeks at the North Island, and visit a lot, and then to the south Island. I loved the nature, the people are great, on the south even greater! :-) I just was not keen on their choice of food and housing.

oh thats great..the kids must've had the time of their lives... Yeah.. i am not a great fan of kiwi food either.. but that can totally be overlooked...

It is cheaper to take take away than buy stuff at the supermarket That is why they eat so bad I think.

i used to prefer cooking my own meals.. I know its quite an Indian thing to say but.. The food seemed a bit too bland for my pallet...
;)

are you Indian? We love Indian food. But preparing that your self in New zealand, was sooo expensive, it was better to go and have an Indian. In England and Belgium the Indian restaurants are much better.

Yes i am Indian. Lucky for me i had carried some of the spices with me when i traveled to NZ.. so it wasnt that hard on my wallet...

We did a bbq in Pahia, and it costed as much as three days restaurant :-) only for meat and veges. I am Dutch and live in Belgium. and married to an englishman that I met in Crete hahaha :-) please too meet you.

Oh wow... Thats quite a bit... i had quite a few friends in NZ who were either hunters or farmers and knew a lot of butchers as well.. so we used to get our meat fresh or cheap most times..
:D

Thats great, where in Belgium do you live i was in Ghent last year visiting a friend... Its a pleasure knowing you too...
