In an internet connected world, success often gets defined for us. There are gurus and experts who have no problems helping us to feel inadequate because we don't drive a Lamborghini or have stacks of $100 dollar bills next to our pillows. Facebook ads by marketing "experts" are getting purchased like crazy because everyone has a "system" to sell. 

When we take a step back from that environment, it's easy to realize how people get caught up in that. The belief that you have to have a lavish lifestyle to be considered successful.

Success is your ability to make your dreams and desires become tangible.

It's when you start the family you always dreamed of having, land that job you went to school for or sink that game winning basket.

When you begin to understand how your success isn't tied to the world, but that it's based on the internal metrics you set for yourself -- you begin to make real progress in life. If you set a low bar of expectation, don't expect to make any huge gains. Setting high goals and then holding yourself accountable for meeting them is the perfect recipe for success.

Setting goals and understanding what it takes to reach them is half the battle. Holding yourself accountable and surrounding yourself with trusted mentors and advisers in the other.
