We shot some footage of some of the process and added some commentary and thoughts.
We just had our sixth child. With a variety of childbirths under our belt, we thought we'd share some of our experiences and thoughts to help educate and inspire others. There are many more qualified and experienced people out there, but this is our story, so we thought that we'd share it.
Ultimately, we believe that childbirth can be a calm, drug-free, natural experience that does not require medical attention in every case. We've certainly needed professional healthcare from doctors before, but a skilled team of midwives have provided sufficient assistance for us on more than one occasion, and we prefer to go that route when possible.

I was honored to be present 7 weeks ago for the birth of our twins. No drugs, midwife assisted, full term, went home 12 hours after birth! I am still in a state of awe and gratitude.
Very cool! I think midwife assisted birth of twins are illegal in Arkansas, but glad you were able to where y'all are at. It is amazing. After the birth of our fourth child (at home in a birthing pool) my wife wanted to go for a walk to Aldi, roughly 7 blocks round trip, and I was blown away, as was the cashier when she asked how our day was.

Story time --- A good friend of mine last year on his way to the hospital with his wife to deliver their 3rd child didn't make it to the hospital in time. He had to pull over to the side of the road about 10 minutes to the hospital and "catch" the baby. Then hand the baby, while still attached, to mom then drive to the hospital to finish the delivery of everything else. Oh I should mention that their other 2 children, both under 4, were in the back seat!

Congrats! My wife and I are expecting our 2nd in early May and will be going the natural route with a midwife. Have fun with the new little one! :)

Where i live a drug free birth at your own home was the normal thing until about the late 80's early 90's . As a man i have seen 2 children being born the natural drug free way in our own house back around 2000 . I was amazed about the strength the female body gets from it's natural drug's that get flowing during labour .

Not all that long ago in human history it was pretty much the norm, these days, things are very different. It is an amazing thing.
