Rule #11

Get Your Priority Straight

Make time for what really matters. Be organized. Getting your priority straight involves having the clarity of mind to know what you really want.

As someone who is determined to succeed, you might involve yourself in so many things even when you do not really need them. It is advisable to write down what you really want to achieve, how you want to achieve them, what you need to stop doing and what you need to start doing.

All these must be written down. Do not forget that what you focus on is what you will really get out of life. Once in a while, review your priorities. Make sure you are actually putting your energy towards achieving them.

Take consistent actions. Once a goal is achieved, set new ones and celebrate your successes.

Rule #12

Process Should Be Your Focus not Result

Success is achieved by men who have the patience to stick it out through the process. People who focus only on the end result get little or nothing. Change your mentality today. Even though you ought to measure your results, you should not ignore, make light of or try to rush the process.
How do you think athletes win gold medals?
By thinking of winning?
Well, yes. But, also by taking practice time very seriously. The process may be difficult and tasking but developing a liking for it will help you achieve your desired result. Many might end up unsuccessful, not because they do not have the ability to achieve success but they could not appreciate the process.

Success does not come just because you desired it, rather it comes once the necessary process is completed. For example, a sales representative who does not like talking or associating with people might end up not convincing any one to buy their goods. It is that simple. First things must come first and the others will fall into place.
