Who is a woman?

A woman is a female human being. The term woman is usually reserved for  an adult, with the term girl being the usual term for a female child or  adolescent. Source.

That is a dictionary definition of who a woman is. However, does gender alone define a woman? What does it mean to be a woman? What does womanhood stand for?

In my own view, being a woman is much more than having the female genital organs. Being a woman comes with responsibilities and having certain qualities. 

A woman is an icon of strength. And even when she is going through a lot herself, she still finds enough power to strengthen others. 

And I totally agree with the writer who this: 

I believe that being a woman is a state of mind and a commitment to social action. We act as a moral compass and a sounding board for partners, friends and family. We believe in standing up for what’s  right. Source.

As a woman, you are completely whole. You do not need a man before you can pursue your career or realize your dream.

Women are not here for the gratification of men. Women exist to be who we are and fulfill whatever our dreams are, whether or not that includes men, whether or not that include children. Source.

With or without a man and children, every woman is a lover and a mother. She loves unconditionally, she nurtures, she directs, she cares, she endures, she encourages and she is selfless.

The next time you hear someone try to insult a man by referring to him as a woman (or “womanly”) consider that it may be the greatest compliment one can give. Source.

Womanhood is more than having boobs and vagina. 

Just be you. Don't walk in another person's shadow. Let the world hear you. Let the world see you.

You are unique.

You are special.

You are a woman. 
 

I celebrate all the women who have impacted the world in some positive ways. 

I celebrate all the women in my life. 

I celebrate all the men who believe a woman has a right to be seen, heard and loved.
