Keep the homefires burning! (Part 2)
Yeah, the rest of the city would probably think us nuts having a campfire on a day when we were breaking heat records. But it's so relaxing!!! There is something so primal about the experience.
My two helpers from the last episode, of Keeping the homefires burning series, dropped round again thisevening. After a nice chick pea curry we decided to torch the pit.
The Goddess from the last episode brought her guitar on this visit. So we had some traditional campfire fare...
As well as new material that is still a work in progress...

I love campfire - in Germany there is not much place to get this experience ;-(
Our homefires are taking place in a city of 400,000+ people. We are very lucky to still have no legislation against it. There are some periods in the summer when fire bans are envoked on the province for fear of forest fires, which we in the city must comply with as well. Otherwise its ok.

Home fires aren't a thing where I'm from though
Yeah it is a very primal like thing, isn't it? Must have been from all those generations in our past who probablly used camp fires like modern day TV. 😎

I absolutely looove camp fires, but it hasn't been much this summer as here in Sweden we actually got complete NO to All kinds of fires because of the heat.
I understand it tho as we have had the worst fires ever here.

We occasionally have fire bans when there is increased risk of forest fires. Although we have had some record breaking high temperatures this summer it has been accompanied by high humidity so the forests have not dried out, thankfully.
That is me playing and singing "Summertime". My guest was playing us a new tune she has been practicing in the second video clip.
