This is the sad railway that lead to the river Kwai bridge, built by the war prisoners of the Japanese during the WWII. More than 100k prisoners died during the construction.

Awesome. Who does not remember the movie and the famous hymn whistled by Colonel Boogey? It had to be a fascinating trip to one of the most painful historical episodes of the Second World War.
Thanks, my dear Pix!
