Today is a historical day in the life of a woman in Saudi Arabia after the government ended the ban on women driving cars. The day has seen various women who had driving licenses hitting the streets amid celebrations. This is a major step in modernising the State just as the Crown prince highlighted at the start of he's reign.

It has been a long time coming for a woman to enjoy the privilege of driving. For decades of years a woman could only watch as her husband and sons drove her whenever she needed to travel privately in the State. This has attracted excitement from the men who had to run traveling errands like dropping children to school, driving for shopping and driving them to work.

Though it's still a long journey for women to totally live free in Saudi Arabia, the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's reign is delivering results as promised. His aim of modernising Saudi Arabia has seen him bringing new reforms like reopening Public Cinemas and music concerts as well as allowing women into sports stadiums.

Women still have a huge hurdle to jump in making decisions for themselves. The guardianship system that requires male permission before making decisions has held women back from maximising their full potential in chasing success and their dreams. Some of the decisions they can not make on their own include signing contracts, getting married, traveling. The World still needs to continue pushing for human rights in Saudi Arabia to emancipate the women.
